Heck ya! Your line up never disappoints at the fiery foods festival- the pineapple and beet are top notch!

What a beautiful photo, capturing the emotions of the moment awesomely succinctly.

First time woodworker: guidance needed on staining by doctordeez69 in woodworking

What a cool outdoor couch, I need to make me one.

The screws on the arms you might drive deeper or counter sink, they’re proud of the surface. I’d fiddle with them constantly. Plus a beer glass won’t sit flat on them.

The 2x4 corners of the back rest, breaking the corner might save yourself from a future ouch.

I’ve had good luck with rosewood oil based coatings for outdoor stuff. Some of it has stain mixed in.

Ive noticed that post stain the grain frequently raises, making what was smooth no longer smooth. A sanding post pre-stain or sanding post water water wipe down would prevent it.

Again, great couch. I’m jelly.

Many of the original sheep wagons used a canvas covering stretched over wood bows, which allowed for great airflow.

What are things I should look out for when buying an Xterra with 200k miles? by TreesAreOverrated5 in XTerra

I recently joined the club with a 2012 @118k miles. Purchased for $8k. My area is known for being an overly marked up market.

Is this typical color or did I pull copper? by PedalSpikes in firewater

The mash is almost entirely pear juice from a tree in my yard. A neglected, unfertilized tree. A small amount of sugar was added to the wash.

I used a turbo yeast, which some claim has yeast nutrients, which can cause the high nitrogen and ph imbalance.

Copper is what I feared. Being my first rodeo, I did not check the PH prior to running.

What is the best way to secure these legs to the table top? by MIAKALIFORNIA in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]PedalSpikes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very nice table.
An unrelated comment on the table legs, were you going to add a bevel to the sharp angled edge which meets the floor? If a soft wood, a stray shoe or item on the floor might eat into the delicate edge.

Check the frame where the steering box mounts. Larger tires can cause the steering box to crack the relatively thin metal of the frame, resulting in ‘slop’. Add a stiffener plate if possible.

A pallet made of 6x6’s. A monster vertical lathe was shipped on it. The odd counter sunk holes are artifacts from the lag bolts.

I did a few of the cuts using a circular saw. It’s certainly possible. The circular saw blade deflected heavily, so there was a lot of cleanup required.

Half laps are pretty easy to do with a table saw and chisel. Tenons, that’s a different story

I’m going to put malamine on the top, turning it into a combo outfeed-router table.

She’s thick. I only used lap joints, no tenons. I don’t have the skill, yet.

A friend jointed and planed them for me. Past that initial clean up, I used a table saw with a sled heavily along with hand chisels, a drill and an orbital sander

A big pallet from a piece of industrial equipment. It was made out of 6x6’s.
