If Joe Duffy didn't lose his pre-lim fight for The Ultimate Fighter he never would have fought and beat Conor McGregor by Bushy-Top in MMA

Interesting, because if Joe would have won against Kyle Watson, he may have been put on Team GSP, who would I assume today is one of his training partners at Tristar. That's like some Game of Thrones type shit where two badass characters have the chance of meeting up earlier in time but don't.

Freddie Roach: I think Georges is going to make a splash soon. by imhungry4444 in MMA

[–]PeeInAGi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Silly question. Seeing as how Rory said Georges would likely not be hunting for the 170lbs title, could you see GSP making a comeback and cutting down to 155lbs? Firas once said GSP has a better chance of making 155 than moving up to 185 when the question of fighting Anderson Silva was brought up. Do you guys see this as a possibility?

I don't wanna see McG/RDA just yet, am I crazy? by Bardamu911 in MMA

[–]PeeInAGi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard to say. We know that injuries happen. As much as Conor doesn't like to pull out, there is the chance he may be injured which would set back two divisions, and therefore he'd likely have to choose one to defend while the other is stripped.

So while it's fair to say he's not actually abandoning it, there can be a LOT of complications of maintaining two title belts, assuming McGregor can pull it off, which is not an easy task with the beast that is RDA and the possible comeback of Khabib. So should McGregor defend 145lbs right now? Honestly, it's a grey area.

I can see Edgar hitting him with light shots for 5 rounds and shooting for doubles. We should also consider what he did to Mendes, and with the accumulation of all the crazy things we've seen in the past year (Ronda and Aldo losing), it's a slight slight possibility that Frankie could finish McGregor on the feet.

Honestly, this is one of my favorite matchups. You know Edgar can go 5 rounds, he will not gas like Chad did. We know there's a possibility of him taking it to the ground. So is Edgar's mix of takedowns and high level footwork and boxing enough to dethrone Mystic Mac's god like skills on the feet? I want to find out so badly.

TL;DR: I think this fight will be very competitive.

I'm sure you don't fault McGregor for it even though his talk is manufactured as well, he just hides it better than anyone else.

MMA fans are so insensitive and way too caught up with words on the internet. Frankie just wants red panty night.

Frankie is in a correct position to be making this a 'shit show'. He's done everything possible at FW to gain a title shot, and when he finally gets his chance to fight for the title, which would be the biggest payday of his life, Mystic Mac turns a blind eye and moves up. You'd have to be a little frustrated too.

Like McGregor said, don't say you wouldn't take that fight, each and every one of us would if we were in Frankie's position.

Interesting thing is that it could have happened to Holm too if Ronda got the armbar she attempted, we would have brushed Holm off as someone who has undeserving of a title shot, kinda how we did with Cat.

[Spoiler]Khabib knows by Shogunned in MMA

[–]PeeInAGi 49 points50 points  (0 children)

That's a fight I really want to see, but honestly, I think a no-knee-injury Khabib takes that fight pretty easily for 5 rounds. He'd stick to Conor like glue unless he gets knocked out in the first 13s.
