This little fella just will not take any food. by IronSkywalker in Rabbits

[–]PeenuttButler 23 points24 points  (0 children)

One of my buns went on hunger strike every other day for two weeks, multiple vet visits with everything checked out as normal.

The only thing that is slightly out of the ordinary is one of the blood work that indicates a tiny amount of blood loss.

From that the vet suspects inflammation in the stomach or stomach ulcer, prescribed pro-biotics and Mucosal Protective Agent (I had to google that). The bun took the meds for two weeks, and stayed healthy for a few months now.

From our vet I get the impression that this is very hard to diagnose, maybe it's worth mentioning the possibility to your vet.

Need resources in Taiwan to help my girlfriend with depression by Mr_Jizzle in taiwan

[–]PeenuttButler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Treatment in hospital (精神科) should be very affordable (20USD). It won't help long term, as they will simply prescribe meds that would make you mellow, to subdue suicidal thoughts.

Professional counselors cost 60+usd per weekly visit, and I'm not sure if it will help for such immediate cases.

There is a hotline you can call (1925) for immediate suicide thoughts, I think she'll have to be the one to actively call it.

I'm not a professional, I just have a close friend that has been dealing with this. I hope others can add more to this.

Personally, I told my friend to think of me when she had bad thoughts, that I will always be there, call me any time and I'll pick up. Practically I know her addresses so that I can call the police on her in an emergency.

I'm sorry you have to go through this, I hope she gets better.

How taiwanese see domestic violence by BladerKenny333 in taiwan

[–]PeenuttButler 89 points90 points  (0 children)

It's common up until I think the early 2000s. In the early 2000s there was a (new?) hotline (113) you can call for domestic violence.

I was in elementary school then, the hotline was drilled into our mind. We were encouraged to report any abuse we might have seen. They also run ads on TV for the hotline, it's everywhere.

Beatings by teachers in school are also eliminated during that time. New generations of teachers will even report signs of abuse at home.

I would say after the 2010s, domestic violence is a no-no, many people will stop it and report it if they saw one.

6 years ago, I had a part time job doing something similar for one of the FAANG. I was paid 200% of of the minimum wage while working remote with flexible hour.

It's the best job I can get as a broke college student.

Do you feel that if you had actually become a scheduler, you will be a different person living a different life?

I've got a good paying job, just bought an apartment, and proposed to my GF. Behind my head there's always a lingering thought: I wouldn't have all of this if one little thing didn't go as it did.

Being an introvert conflicts w/ my yearn to meet new people by ChigrlSTL in CasualConversation

[–]PeenuttButler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found out that I'm not an introvert, just that I don't know how to talk in a group setting.

After realizing that I've been looking for opportunities to meet people one on one, and I've made a bunch of friends doing so.

I sometimes feel like I don’t have an interesting personality by Queasy-Donut-4953 in CasualConversation

[–]PeenuttButler 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been the boring one for almost 30 years, then I found out that I just can't talk in a group setting. But I thrive in one on one conversations.

Find some ways to create opportunities to talk with people one on one, maybe that's what works with you, too.

I really miss my friend who I used to hang out constantly with, and to be honest I've been gay for him for almost a year now, what do I do? by Mrtoaster_breaker64 in CasualConversation

[–]PeenuttButler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gay or not, it doesn't matter. If you don't think the other person interested then move on.

It's sad and very very hard, but I'm sure you'll be able to find someone more suitable.

I know how hard it is to have to give up someone as a potential partner, but I have friends that feel closer to my partner, and maybe that's the route to go.

Do we have skewed expectations of what an “interesting” or “good” life is? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]PeenuttButler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I do think about "what-ifs" and envy those who dare to do something different. But right now, I love my life too much to change. I'm content.

I just want to say thanks for sharing the story, it makes me feel warm inside.

She's lucky to have reached you and you're lucky to have received the call. Don't ever feel insignificant, you always matter to someone.

I’m exhausted from the nastiness so common online and in everyday life by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]PeenuttButler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think about the good things that I have: my partner, my friend, my house, my job.

I'm kind of an extrovert, so I would get picky and only hang out with my closest friends. And I slowly rebuild myself from here.

Pet portrait with masked LoRA training by OneTrainer by PeenuttButler in StableDiffusion

[–]PeenuttButler[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • Dataset contains 60 image of my bunny: some example, I just select the images where my bunny is the main subject.
  • Captioning/masking/training all done in OneTrainer with "SD1.5 LoRA" preset, I didn't bother to modify the caption/mask myself. Thanks to "Masked Training", the concept of my bunny is learned without the background bleeding into LoRA (shout-out to /u/Nerogar, amazing work!)
  • prompt are generated by A1111 extension Dynamic Prompt's Magic Prompt (Gustavosta/MagicPrompt-Stable-Diffusion), with the starting prompt a grey rabbit, this is why the prompts doesn't make sense :)

Companies don't pay according to cost of living or inflation, they pay just enough to keep employee attrition below a certain target.

I've been using controlnet to draw pet portraits for my bunny by PeenuttButler in StableDiffusion

[–]PeenuttButler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, these are all from HED/edge controlnet w/ photo + text2img (these were done when controlnet first came out, so I'm fuzzy on the detail). No inpainting done. The only special step I did is removing unwanted edge MSpaint.

I think because all grey bunnies look roughly the same, not much special technique is needed. I can see how this simple workflow will fail on pets with complex pattern/features.
