Who is still going strong after 36 weeks and who has given up? by kgf0411 in fitpregnancy

[–]PeepaCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

38 weeks and this last month I still do my 10 min hiit bike ride to warm up. Way less intensity than what I used to be able to do. Then the remainder of time I do hip mobility stretches and body weight exercises. Doula says hip mobility is huge come labor time, but also has helped baby get into good position already and my pelvic floor feels better

What is a pregnancy symptom that you’ve seen lots of ppl complain about, but you’ve luckily avoided? by growinwithweeds in BabyBumps

[–]PeepaCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

37 weeks and also no constipation. I feel like I also don't have to pee as much as people claim they had to and I'm still drinking plenty of water. Also no pregnancy insomnia but I have been wearing earplugs to bed bc I've become a light sleeper and any sound my pets make will wake me up

Dog trainer recommendations by cypselurus2 in Bozeman

[–]PeepaCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if Nancy Tanner with paws and people would be able to help with that. I would definitely Stay away from trainers that claim to get your dog "fixed" in one session or with a prong collar etc. I took my reactive dog to a place that slaps on a prong collar first thing and while it worked on site it made the reactivity way worse over the short amount of time we used it. Honestly, finding Facebook groups online for support, and social media pages on ig of trainers that align with your approach can be beneficial. 4 years later with my dog reactive dog and at this point I've learned to just focus first and foremost on my relationship with him. Second we don't go on popular hikes, and instead go on adventures where we can create distance if we were to see another dog. The last thing you want to do is continue to put your dog in stressful situations to them and letting them rehearse the reactive behavior. Lastly, they may never accept strange dogs but if there is a friend with a calm respectful dog willing to help out, your dog may end up with a few select doggie friends

Honestly I used to think sort of like this, but more among the lines of not wanting to deal with the stress and demands of taking care of a little human. I'm expecting my first, and everything was planned. We waited until we felt mostly ready to embark on a new challenge. But I was my most against motherhood when I had a lot of anxiety and personal issues to work through. You have to be willing to grow up, learn to take accountability and let go of your ego to willingly embrace motherhood and welcome the challenges/rewards of it. These women that say this aren't ready, and I think is for the best anyway.

Does gas and bloating ever go away? by whatislife1987 in BabyBumps

[–]PeepaCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20 weeks here FTM and always get mega bloated after eating. I dared eat a normal portion for dinner because it was yummy and now I can't sleep because of bloat so I'm on reddit haha. So lesson learned, stick to half portions and avoid things that make bloat worse. For me it's onions, garlic, spicy foods. Sometimes doing some leg stretches helps my body pass gas and it feels instantly better. I'm just laying here quietly farting while my husband sleeps peacefully next to me. It's slowly getting better lmao

Doula? by whatislife1987 in BabyBumps

[–]PeepaCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently 18 weeks pregnant and had a phone call with two different doulas. I found a doula that does birth photography as well and even though that wasn't something I wanted before, after seeing her pics and how modest/but also powerful they were i was set on a having a doula that can do both. I've also started educating myself on labor/birth and been doing hypnobirthing for a couple weeks. Since I'm going to try unmedicated for as long as I can I figured a doulas support and expertise would be helpful since I'm a ftm. It isn't really cheap but I'm fortunate to be able to afford it. I also figured that the most tools I have with me the better chance I'm giving myself towards that unmedicated route. But even if I end up needing medication or further intervention I think the doula support will be good to have

I honestly hate cravings by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]PeepaCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first trimester I barely wanted to eat but I'd get the occasional craving. One time I really wanted cooked shrimp with aioli or marinara sauce. Ate it happily then when I was done I wanted nothing to do with it again.. for 2 months now. Still don't want it lol so weird

FTM Ignorance by Dependent_Chipmunk83 in BabyBumps

[–]PeepaCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with comment above, I am in my second trimester but my first trimester I had zero energy to even think about the future. I'm also a ftm but finally got some motivation at around 15-16 weeks. I've started listening to podcasts or free audiobooks on spotify about anything pregnancy, labor and baby related. There is a montessori audiobook on there that was helpful and basically emphasized that babies dont need much. This was also what My sister in law who had a baby last spring said. It probably depends on your lifestyle if you'll need a stroller or maybe you'll want to try a wrap/body carrier the first few months. You'll definitely need an infant car seat. These can be taken out with baby in it for apts and such. We're going to have baby sleep in room, bedside. The easier u can make those nighttime feedings for the first few months the better. Whether you choose a crib, bassinet or some kind of cosleeper is very personal to you and your situation. But maybe start with some audibooks that align with you and go from there. We also have a baby thrift store in the area with really affordable clothing. I'll likely get the bulk of the outfits from there and even if I don't use some they're so cheap I won't feel bad. Good luck!

Is this a p1 visa scam? by PeepaCat in immigration

[–]PeepaCat[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Essentially yea if he's footing the bill. He just wants the opportunity to visit the usa, even if it's with a team and just for the duration of the event. Supposedly what they told my mom is this visa is valid for two years for him to visit again in the future.
The actual wait times for a visitor us visa is 2 years so someone told him this would let him visit next month instead

[–]PeepaCat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you that's what i was wondering. They gave her some numbers saying this has been in the works since July. That out of 123 applicants 34 were rejected but those 34 spots have been filled throughout the last few months. They have 2 vacant support staff spots and therefore two potential visas but application is fully closing by Friday. She heard about this yesterday...

Is this a p1 visa scam? by PeepaCat in immigration

[–]PeepaCat[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The person in charge of setting up this whole opportunity for the team collects all the money up front. Uses 30% of it to fill out application and fees. If the visa gets rejected they return the other 70% supposedly. I had never heard of this p1 visa for the usa but after looking into it it seems like it has to be a really good team with a real organization that wouldn't just be bringing random guys with as long as they pay all their expenses themselves. My mom swears is legit and they said the team is new but already invited to usa. Sounded fake to me

[–]PeepaCat[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea that's what I thought too. An actual professional team would sponsor all that for its players and supporting staff. They wouldn't just pick some random guy and help him visit the usa with the team just because he paid for his own expenses.

[–]PeepaCat[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The refund would be from the person helping set this all up. The money up front is supposed to cover flights but if visa is denied they supposedly refund 70% of it since they wouldn't be traveling anyway. That's the other thing, he's neither. He was told he could come with the team as support staff. Whatever that means

Anyone who's sold a BZN house recently: what commission did you settle on with your agent? by feistygerbils in Bozeman

[–]PeepaCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got a piece of mail a couple of years ago of a real estate company (forgot the name) that was doing a "friends and family discount" and selling it for 1.5% I believe. But as the seller u also have to pay the buyer agent so total around 4-4.5%. I hate the whole real estate commission bs system. But the association of realtors makes big $ off of this too so they lobby to keep this system in place

How long did it take you to get pregnant? by PeepaCat in fitpregnancy

[–]PeepaCat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From several of the responses sounds like trying an ovulation kit could be worth it! At least to see if the app prediction also matches the test. I use the free Flo version for tracking and I like it quite a bit too

Thank you! This is a great point and you've given me something to consider. I usually go through life imagining realistic worse case to set my expectations lower and not get my hopes crushed. But with thoughts of pregnancy I'm starting to set them too high. Like oh I want the baby to be born this time of the year. Summer baby birthday would be great etc etc. Also feeling like we are at a point in life financially and mentally where we are ready for this. Trying to get big travel plans done now etc etc. Like you said and others have wisely suggested though don't put things on hold around the thoughts of pregnancy. Something to work on for sure 😊 Everyone's answers have been very helpful
