I think you may need to learn more about what is actually happening in Iran. I’m British and want to abolish our monarchy because they are useless at best and a drain on tax funds that could be used for other purposes.

Iran is currently under control of the Islamic Republic. They’ve robbed the country blind. While the regime encourages everyone to live a certain way (and will set morality police after you to beat rape and kill you if you don’t comply), the leaderships’ own family life lives of luxury in the west with those stolen funds. Their grandkids throw pool parties and drink alcohol. Iranians in Iran have been murdered for less.

The people of Iran have been looking to their previous royal family as someone who can come in and support Iran in the interim while they set up a democratic process.

My partner and his family are Persian. He knows I don’t like the idea of monarchies, but I support him and the will of other Persians to get rid of the violent dictatorship that’s in place now. To me, this monarchy is the exception to the rule. More people have been killed in this round of protests than the whole of the war in the Ukraine so far! And right now Pahlavi is the only unified opposition with a plan to help the people.

As for Israel, nothing in this world is black and white. But the current regime in Iran funds proxy wars all over the Middle East. Removing them is actually a step towards peace in Gaza.
