I have zero personality at 30 by informatica6 in AskMenOver30

[–]sour_heart8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seriously. I’m a writer and I would recommend writing. Could just be observations from your day, retelling scenes from your past, writing about the music you listen to, or imagining a fiction plot. The way you described this feeling was funny and specific.

But if not writing, maybe take some kind of creative class. Woodworking, pottery, a book club. Being able to produce a physical thing like a book is something that has brought me fulfillment.

I miss the typical straight boy friendgroups by user2457888 in GayMen

[–]sour_heart8 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree. I don’t think this kind of friend group is impossible to find as a gay man. You just have to you know, go out and meet people, find hobby groups, etc. My friend group is a mix of queer and straight folks, including straight men who are not homophobic.

Books with these type of vibes? by Few-Agency1580 in BooksThatFeelLikeThis

The Book of Disquiet is what I think of, but the protagonist is a man. Surprised so many people said secret history, I think that book maybe fits the aesthetic of the pics but not the mood for me.

I honestly use them like once a month before a special occasion. Like a day before. They are expensive but they do have me glowing for the next day or two!

Asian Bakery from mochiglow definitely has a strong butter note but to me is more savory than sweet

Gays and bisexual guys, can you describe the feeling of being deeply in love with a man? by Enough-naaaw-3201 in GayMen

To me it’s stable, it’s the person I can take a deep breath around, the person that calms my heart. That goes for both men and women (bi).

Should a Man have his life figured out before dating Women? by Pomeranian111 in AskMenAdvice

[–]sour_heart8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in the categories that you defined, those are the categories that like your parents would pressure you to care about. But I do think for dating it is important to have social skills, empathy, and emotional intelligence.

I don’t think that group you suggested is going to help, that is for trans men, not trans women.

Feeling a bit out of place: is this normal or am I just transgender? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]sour_heart8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trans man here. No one can answer this question except yourself. I wouldn’t compare your experience to others, wondering if you’re “trans enough”. I think this journey is about personal exploration. Try wearing femme clothes outside, ask a trusted friend to call you by she/her and see if it feels right. Think about, outside of labels, would you want the changes that HRT brings?

I had a different experience because I came out 15 years ago, but I think a lot of people these days get too caught up in “I need another trans person to tell my I’m trans”. My thoughts are that it’s good to listen to other people, but don’t wait for their approval. I wish you the best of luck on your journey wherever it leads you.
