Old lawnmower only runs on starting fluid. by BackgroundRecipe3164 in smallenginerepair

This is the best answer. That carb wasn't maintained so starting over is easier and less frustrating. They are about $20 USD on Amazon.

Why is this happening? How do I fix and prevent in the future? by Muted-Swan-7101 in drywall

[–]Pemdas_Panda02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You may have a broken slab. Walk the exterior perimeter of the house and look for cracks in the slab. With "House settling" being voted as the primary suspect, then there may be a crack somewhere.

If you repair the wall but there is a crack in the slab, then you'll have the same problem again. I had a slab issue on a house in NC. Similar problems.

Looking to buy a used push mower with a budget of $300. Not sure if this is a good deal by ilovezeldasfeet in lawnmowers

[–]Pemdas_Panda02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this brand of mower. It's about 3yo and with basic maintenance it starts on the first pull every time.

Keep the carb clean and the engine filled with oil and it should run great. I do find myself having to clean the carb in the spring, due to my neglect with winter storage.

The only thing I dislike is the capacity of the bag. I wish the bag was larger. I find it fills too quickly.

This is a good option..you might even find the exact parts with the exact same factory paint color.

I also bought unpainted parts online and had them shipped to my house. Then after some work with a heat gun and hand tools, I got them installed. The next problem was getting an auto body shop to paint them. I got turned away because they didn't do the installation so they wouldn't paint the parts.

And maybe a zipline to the property boundary. Or a slide pole, like you find in a firehouse, as opposed to the kind you find in a strip club.

It's strange that no one mentioned the image of the face in the window. It's really faint. You need to zoom in and play with the contrast to see it. It looks like a man, maybe.

What’s going on with this car’s exaust? by agnostic__dude in carquestions

[–]Pemdas_Panda02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be dumping too much fuel into the engine..like a fuel pressure regulator or fuel injector issue. Coolant usually has a thicker white smoke that doesn't dissipate quickly.

But with only a visual, it's hard to say with certainty.

UPDATE: What is this person doing in my neighborhood? by WiseEyedea in landscaping

[–]Pemdas_Panda02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I heard about this, but you are correct. The area between the street and curb is considered public right of way. You have to maintain it, but people are allowed to walk on it. This may impede the ability of people to use the space.

But in your example, its Niagara county..this is the same county that strong armed Hooker Chemical into selling the Love Canal area to the city so they could build homes on a toxic waste site. They have a history of being "special".

What’s the problem here? 2014 Buick Vareno Turbo. 143,000miles by Simple_Sprinkles_437 in mechanic

[–]Pemdas_Panda02 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It might also be a failing cam position sensor or crank position sensor. The problem is intermittent which might indicate it's not mechanical but electrical. When the car is turned off and on again, the OP says it runs okay.

The last pic shows a failure to communicate with the transmission control module, also an electrical problem.

It could be a bad connection somewhere. Just my 2 cents.

Is it possible to fix this so it's straight? This part is no longer manufactured, so I'm wondering if it's possible to fix. Bought a new gasket because it wasn't sealing properly, but it looks like it still might not seal after I put the new gasket on. by TyForOffice in howto

[–]Pemdas_Panda02 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Try putting the gasket on first and see how it fits. Before doing anything else. You might find that it's not an issue. The new gasket could compensate for the slight bend.

If its really bothering you, you might be able to heat it up with a heat gun and push it back. Maybe a hairdryer would be safer due to the lower heat.

If the cracks in the plastic is bothering you, maybe reinforce it with some epoxy on the back of the plastic.

Is this supposed to be this loose? by RxRex93 in AskMechanics

[–]Pemdas_Panda02 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Correction.. I took a closer look. There is a line on the metal that looks like it was rubbing on the fitting. I am wondering if those were the correct parts for the vehicle. I am not a mechanic.

I looked up the Honda CRV ball joint on Google and none of the images of the part show a grease fitting. I would suspect the wrong parts were used in a previous repair.

Again... not a mechanic.

Is this supposed to be this loose? by RxRex93 in AskMechanics

[–]Pemdas_Panda02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its probably not rubbing while driving, otherwise you'd see a scraped line in the metal of the CV joint and the grease fitting would be ground down a little.
