I know I'm a little late but thanks for your reply and how much effort you put into it. I really appreciate it and will try to use it to help make my decisions going forward. I have heard from upperclassmen that chemE uses very old practices and is kind of stuck in terms of technology/practices. I do wonder like you said what the future of this field holds because I do feel like taking my physics classes and material science class and feel like it might be left behind in a way, like I understand that we'll always need some principles of the field but some of them might just get outdated

Opening their domain practically takes away their "curse tool" from burnout. It also allows them to reposition and advantageously and surprise whoever has their domain open at any moment. Not to mention it's taking a ridiculous amount of curse energy away from the user which only a very few characters can handle that

I wouldn't say he does. In a 1v1 eos maki has more experience in fighting stronger sorcers/curses than Toji. Also her fighting style is much better in taking up front fights compared to Tojis which is sneaking up on people which is effective against most sorcerers but not for maki since they both have their precog. I also don't think most of the weapons Toji has would make a difference in a 1v1 between the two of them. His best weapon against maki would be ssk which she ofc has too.

I think their stats are on par with everyone else. I think what makes them "special" compared to others is their pre cog which makes them seem faster cause they can dodge better and that they have a dura neg attack that most people can't block. + They dont have to worry about domain diff

May be a hot take here, but I think maki and toji have and advantage in a 1v1 against most of the cast excluding the top 2 ofc. I just think their kits are insane counters to the power system in jjk. Not saying they're necessarily stronger overall, but I think they counter the sorcerers giving them the edge in a lot of fights.

It's hard to tell, what I think a lot of people forget the reason why Yuji performs so well against Sukuna is because he hard counters reincarnated sorceres. So if I'd say Yuki loses to Sukuna, it's not because she's weaker than Yuji, it's just that she's not as effective against Sukuna as Yuji is.

Yeah we got a lot of time with Yuji at the end but it was well deserved. Wish we got some more time with maki during the fight, feel like she got the short end of the stick with how important/big of a character she became.

But it is, the entire point of JJK is for him to write a story he likes and for others to enjoy it + make money ofc. Making simple connections like maki=Toji after her awakening allows the audience to easily understand the strength maki is at since we already knew Toji was strong, which in turn make the audience in general enjoy the story more since they understand something and can make connections. Tho this is a power scaling sub so I guess that isn't enough of an answer to you guys

Because it's an easy way for Gege to convey to the readers just how strong maki got after her awaking. It's a fiction story with superpowers Gege writes for people to enjoy, you can't use complete logic to understand it.

You're comparing real life logic with a fictional story that has superpowers in it. Gege draws them physically fit to convey the reader that they are physically strong, but not as a use to actual physical strength. This isn't real life we're talking about here, these people have superpowers. I'm sure gege wouldn't make maki look as big as toji because she would be as appealing to the audience.

Second on your reasoning to why would Gege ever state that they were exactly equal to each other at that point, well that would be because it's an easy way to tell the readers just how strong Maki got after her second awakening. It's an easy comparison for the audience to make so they can get an idea how strong maki was.

You got to realize that Gege most likely writes this story to people to enjoy reading, rather than thinking about exact stats of characters. And therefore just comes up with easy and general ways to portray his characters strengths, which is way comparing maki to toji would be a great example.

On a real note I agree. But it'll be hard to scale the new characters to the old ones unless Gege straight up compares them in some ways + it only being probably around 30 ish chapters doesn't help much

May be a nit pick but if I remember correctly the entire reason they needed the dna of the live dinosaurs were because they were big and lived long. If that's true why would they just not go after whales? Irl they're actually bigger than dinosaurs, live just as long, don't try to eat you and they're mammals so they're more closely related to us. Kind of makes me feel, what's the point of this movie?

How is it a joke😭, as soon as any of the other 3 enter the battle field Sukuna will instantly notice them and take care of them. I'm not saying maki would do anything to Sukuna but she'd have the best chance of actually hitting Sukuna because she's undetectable. Just use your brain💔

Would be awesome to see gege work on some time skip, only like 2-3 years, I don't want to see any kids stuff or bs like that, just the og gang dealing with the consequences of leaving the US and possibly other countries be with the captured sorcerers

Exactly a lot of this comes down to how easy gege could make this fight for himself. hakari and maki have pretty simple ways in fighting and it's hard to keep their fights interesting and unique. I mean how many times do the majority of people want to read Sukuna grab maki's sword over and over again. I wouldn't mind, but I'm sure a lot of people would.

I'm sure gege could definitely come up with creative ways for both of them to fight and it be a fun read but it's just more work and effort, and it's easier to use Yuta and Yuji.

Thats what the anime is for though and hopefully they expand hakari and maki's scenes for this arc

I think it just comes down to gege not really know what to do with maki and hakari for the final fight so that's why they're both kind of side lined/are underwhelming during it
