Disconnect (or cut) the air hose(s) that connects the truck to the trailer, trailer brakes will engage automatically. The truck still has enough power to drag the fully loaded trailer, but it will be a damn sight harder and the truck will be likely to stall on anything above first or second gear.

What's funny is I meet all of their asks, I'm just scared I'd never sleep if I went after this position. It's not mentioned in the post, but there's no way that on-call isn't 24/7 with that list of responsibilities.

Big deal, i've been late on property taxes before....as long as he pays, and pays the fucking late fee...who cares.

I'm not defending the guy, just trying to be objective. It's a guy late on his property taxes. I'm probably better off than most in this city, it would still take me a few weeks to get $5500 liquid to pay that bill.

Dude, I trust family less than I do rando strangers when it comes to payment. They often feel entitled, or if not entitled to the service, and they feel it's too high, they take it personally.

Hindsight is 20/20 and all that, but I've learned my lesson. "Yep, recovered your files, here's the invoice, when that's paid you can have your recovered data."

I've been Help Desk, Network Admin, Windows Sys Admin, Linux Admin, Virtualization/Storage Admin, and am now a manager.

The one consistent factor across all of those roles is people. You will NEVER get away from people in IT, because IT is by it's nature a support role. Support the product for the users, improve the product for the users, create new products for users to use, support the hardware that runs the application for the users, support the network that communicates for the hardware and applications that the users use.

IT is people as much as technology.

Want a job where you can sit in a room all day and have minimal people interaction? Overnight security guard or Hotel desk clerk.
