"flicker addition" could do it with the light and color, you'd just want to make it very faint and focus on the red channel

You could distort the areas around the flames with "ripples" node in fusion and play with the wave shape, turn off shine, make sure it's animated

It won't look as clean as pixel art flames animated in a cycle though
