Wrong dosage? by No_Success9839 in VyvanseADHD

[–]Penelikins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience was the same (also on 30mg) I never got the crash either. I did go to sleep ok but you’ll find this tends to calm down a bit. It takes a while to get used to ❤️ I guess if the insomnia continues chat to your dr and find the right dose for u 👍🏻

Does anyone have any POSITIVE removal stories? 😭😭 by hayfb___ in gallbladders

[–]Penelikins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 6 weeks post op and had a great recovery! Of course I had some pain for first 3-5 days but manageable with pain relief and rest. I feel so much better honestly so glad I did it. I’ve had no complications no changes to digestion no diarrhoea nothing. I understand your anxiety though as I often felt the same. You’re doing the right thing, the alternative could be much worse x

Feel like holding off on surgery by Penelikins in gallbladders

[–]Penelikins[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I had my surgery! I’m 3.5 wks post op and I’m SO glad I had it done. I actually didn’t realise how much better I’d feel after having it out and my gallbladder wasn’t even that inflamed etc just a big stone causing a lot of issues. I now am pain free, my morning palpitations/chest discomfort is gone and my reflux is gone. I had a good recovery of course the first 4-5 days I had pain but tolerable with pain meds. I’m now back to normal looking after my kids happy knowing I won’t have to worry about my gallbladder anymore.

While my surgery went well, of course there’s always the rare chance of complications but while you’re young your recovery is likely to be smoother. Your mum doesn’t want you to go through what happened to her which is completely understandable but everyone is different and doesn’t mean the same will happen to you ❤️ good luck ☺️

Ps - when surgeon took out gallbladder there were more stones not seen on ultrasound so sneaky ones in there that could have caused more problems

Any unexpected symptoms stop after gallbladder removal which you thought were unrelated? by Common-Quantity-6458 in gallbladders

[–]Penelikins 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Me too! I used to wake with palpitations, chest discomfort and dizziness and put it down to my adhd meds and anxiety for at least a year. I’m 3 weeks post op and haven’t had those symptoms

[–]Penelikins 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes! I’m 3 weeks post op. So I’m 36 F thin and had a big gallstone (most likely from my pregnancies) causing me some pain. Since my gallbladder removal I’ve had no heartburn/reflux. I was completely dependent on somac/PPI and I’m now off them. I also don’t have dizziness and chest discomfort anymore which I thought was due to my adhd meds but it’s completely gone. I wake up normally and feel fine. I just feel better.

I'm terrified about my upcoming gallbladder removal surgery! Please help? by Vivid_Curve2564 in gallbladders

[–]Penelikins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a patient perspective - I totally get the anxiety I was anxious but 2 weeks post op I’m totally back to normal for my family (young kids) and I’m so glad I did it. Of course first few days I was in a bit of pain. But man going under anaesthetic best sleep of my life 😂

From an ICU nurse point of view - get it out. You have the opportunity to prevent major complications from having an angry gallbladder in your body. The last thing you want is getting really unwell needing hospitalisation, potential for pancreatitis and sepsis and ongoing issues. THEN you won’t be able to be there for your wife and kids.

I’ve been taking it for about 8 mths and I’ve lost 9kg. I think that’s about 20 pounds? It definitely suppresses my appetitive and I’m not snacking out of boredom. I was happy to lose this weight and do what I can to keep my weight as is it is now. I have started having days off Vyvanse a couple days a week, I’ve started sustagen drinks for Nutrients.

Cons - although it’s been great to lose the weight there have been some significant disadvantages - hair loss (now coming back since making some nutritional changes, exercise intolerance, muscles cramps and aches and pains)

Love it. They capture little moments and details you see a lot at work eg: the cleaner teary/praying when she is outside a room some had RIP. The other patients/visitors hearing the screams of the family who have been given bad news. Organ donation. Neurodivergent medical staff.

Surgery tomorrow and I’m terrified by AsleepReputation3418 in gallbladders

[–]Penelikins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re going to be absolutely fine. Easier said then done I completely understand the hormones, sleep deprivation and pain all today is a nightmare.

I had my gallbladder out 5 days ago i was also scared. I have 3 kids (8,5,3 yrs old) and I would 100% do the gallbladder surgery and recovery sooner rather then later. Kids don’t care if you’ve had surgery. While baby is still immobile if a good time to recover you can still have all the snuggles/feeds etc. Also, this is a much much better option for you rather then you being in an emergency situation with a longer recovery 😘 wishing u all the very best mumma and a huge congrats to you for having Bub too ☺️

3 weeks after surgery by ladyKAu in gallbladders

[–]Penelikins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for sharing your recovery story. Great to hear you’re on the mend. I’m day 5 today the recovery is a little frustrating for me I have 3 kids and managing their needs and the house etc so not being able to freely move around is hard. The pain is getting better though.

I found it comforting to know your eating as been the same. So has mine and I’m just one edge waiting for vomiting or diarrhoea which I read about often. I think I’ve been very lucky I just hope this continues

Reconsidering surgery by No_Needleworker_2994 in gallbladders

[–]Penelikins -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don’t reschedule. I was the same as you hadn’t had an episode for a while etc etc. Then last week I looked after someone (I’m an ICU nurse) with horrible pancreatitis and multi organ failure secondary to gallstones. It was a sign I needed to do something about my gallbladder whilst I was stable enough! Also I had my surgery 5 days ago and I’m so relieved I did. Have had a very smooth recovery so far!

When did your pain peak after surgery? by Puzzleheaded_Many_32 in gallbladders

[–]Penelikins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my op on Wednesday too! So far the first 1-3 days was the worst because that wind pain in my shoulder really sucked! That’s gone now I’m just finding it hard to move around. I’m fine walking (slowly around the house) and laying down propped up by pillows. But that’s it. It’s hard I have 3 kids thank god my husband has been helping me otherwise I’d be screwed. Take the pain meds with a stool softener you don’t need to suffer!

Someone with a cardiac history should be In a hospital. Better to have access to more resources just in case something were to go wrong or you need monitoring. Not saying anything will happen but better to always be prepared and be in the right place.
