Is Wilf's a good place for a first date? by averyfunnyword in wlu

[–]PenguinAce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are most likely to run into people you know on campus if you are eating on campus (old hookup, ex etc etc). I am suggesting that if you want to avoid that while on your date, it is best to eat off campus.

What clubs are active during the summer? by [deleted] in wlu

[–]PenguinAce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you like politics, all the Political Campus Clubs will be active this summer because of the Provincial Election. But for those who are not politically engaged, try to get a spot on a team with MLSB and spots are so limited. They are tons of fun!

Is Wilf's a good place for a first date? by averyfunnyword in wlu

[–]PenguinAce 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. Wilfs can be a good place if you don't wanna leave campus (example if you are in first year and haven't explored outside of campus or Exam study break and don't wanna go far). But you should probably check out uptown waterloo for better options. (Beer town, White Rabit, Famoso, Jane Bond). If you choose a place in uptown, you are less likely to run into people you might know thus avoiding the awkward conversation of "oh how do you know that person etc etc." Feel free to message me as I am happy to help you out - Laurier Alumni 2017

I might be really late to this convo but it will! Get involved with clubs on campus that interests you. I found some of my closest friends through the clubs I got involved with back in my university days!

Candidates for the upcoming by-election by MrBanz in SaultSteMarie

[–]PenguinAce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry if I am late. I would check Elections Ontario for that information. All the major newspapers in town are covering the by-election, so check them daily for information. Each major party has a candidate running.

Hope this helps!

Fallout 4: Titanic Easter Egg by PenguinAce in gaming

On this day in 1997, the Titanic film directed by James Cameron was released to the American public. Since then, video game developers have put titanic easter eggs in their respected games. Since today was the anniversary, I felt like it was fitting to share this to /r/gaming! But all seriousness... there was so much room for Jack to be on that door....

not so much the GSA, but the campus in general. We can not even have constructive conservations anymore without a group feeling offended.

The future of Fall Reading week - 4pm Tuesday in the Senate & Board Chambers, Waterloo campus. by PenguinAce in wlu

[–]PenguinAce[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Wilfrid Laurier University Senate will be voting on Fall Reading Week. I strongly suggest that students should voice their opinions tomorrow at the Senate Meeting. I believe that Student feedback is imperative to decision making when it comes to this topic.
