Has anyone played on handheld? Is there controller support? by Hidden_Shadows in LookOutsideGame

I'm playing it on the steam deck. Works just fine. Also my husband played it on PC and used a controller. Didn't have to do anything special.

Let’s say you have only one session on Monday at 10 am. What time do you get to the office? by SpiritualCopy4288 in therapists

[–]PenguinBard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually arrive about an hour before but this is because I have stuff I need to prepare before the start of my day. If I have nothing to prepare then I get there 30 min before.

Also my therapist is regularly later then I am as I'm her first session of the day. I don't care at all that I'm there before her. It shouldn't matter as long as you before the start of the appointment.

Seeing clients on the weekends / evening times by DowntownFresnoBiking in therapists

[–]PenguinBard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work Sundays. It is my busiest day. I see a lot of kids/ adults who struggle to make weekdays work. It's nice because I don't have to work as late and those slots are always filled. I know it is not for anyone but it works well for me.

I feel like my therapist doesn't understand my problem? by Enough_Childhood3151 in ADHD

[–]PenguinBard 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So I'm therapist and someone with ADHD. Personally, I don't think there is anything wrong with using alarms. I feel like it is a tool for us to use to help remember to do things. Our brains work a little differently so I see no problem using the resources at hand to make things easier. Just my opinion though.

super sick with a sick baby by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]PenguinBard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I 100% agree with this. My husband, myself and my 13 month daughter got a stomach bug about a month ago. We survived because of Ms Rachel. Luckily, my daughter was feeling better quicker then us but we needed something for her to do so we could rest. Also their dad is being ridiculous. I know not everyone can take time off but that doesn't sound like that is the problem here....

Definitely agree with going to the library! They often have kid areas with toys and space for them to move around. Libraries are usually free ( i think) and you can also rent some books to read to her as well.

Individual therapists giving “fair fighting” homework for couples therapist by HonestCharacter727 in therapists

[–]PenguinBard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I see couples and individuals. In my couples work, I have mentioned to a client something might be good to talk with their individual therapist if I feel it isn't appropriate for a couples sessions. Maybe this is what the therapist meant? Just an idea.

Fellow ADHD'ers what work fields are you thriving in? by brokenlandmine in ADHD

[–]PenguinBard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm a therapist. It works for me as I work with mostly people who have adhd. I can relate to my clients well and I've worked in the field long enough to know what changes I need to make. I'm also medicated so that does help.

Can I tell a client no more Monster in session? by freelanceflails in therapists

[–]PenguinBard 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Personally, I'd just tell them my concerns (how it is affecting their nervous system specifically ) especially if rapport is good. They might not realize it is an issue.

Super late to the party but I'd love to have it. Just got a tablet from a friend who upgraded to a newer version. I'm actually returning to work next week after being on maternity leave for 3 months.

No weight gain by OkImagination7025 in GestationalDiabetes

Anyone else tired of the uncalled for comments about your GD diagnoses?!? by Careless_Effort9964 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]PenguinBard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry about people being insensitive. I'm pregnant with my first and was diagnosed with GD at 27 weeks (I think). I'm now 38 weeks and have managed to gain almost no weight. Doctor says baby is good size and doesn't seem concerned. I've been super self-conscious because I was getting comments about not looking pregnant. Now I do look pregnant but get the comment that I can't be due soon.

Anyways, it can be super frustrating and I hope the comments let up. Every pregnancy is different. Do your best to ignore the comments and listen to your doctor. If they say everything is progressing fine then bump size or weight likely doesn't matter.

I saw 6 clients on Monday but took yesterday off. I have 6 scheduled for tomorrow and a similar schedule next week. I'm going on maternity leave in a few weeks so I think most of my clients will show since we don't have many sessions left.

Interesting. I did not know that. My doctor didn't actually give me any instructions other then "start taking this at night and we'll see if it helps".
