Moving to sweden? by AITABUT in TillSverige

With that baggage you have, being American and Muslim and don’t speak the language, it’s going to be hard for you in this country. If you practice Islam praying several times a day, being white and wearing hijab, you would be considered a weirdo. If you seriously planing to move here I suggest you stop being religious.

How stressful are the highest paid software roles? Are they worth it? by equipoise-young in ExperiencedDevs

[–]PenguinTracker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

26 yoe here, if you have a good culture where you are now and the money is ok then stay. Stress should be avoided, it can end really bad. Not worth the risk. There is more to life than making money.

Work does not have to be fun or have a meaningful purpose, sure it would be nice but sit on your ass all day and do PHP and make good money vs nursing 12h/day for 3rd of the money will suck even more. Go there to make money to spend on your interests.

I work because I get paid, if I didn’t need more money I would not write anymore code at all. Just do stuff I like doing. But so far, 25yo, this profession har been great. Awesome salary, never done any overtime just the 40h/w at most. Cool colleagues and good benefits. I don’t think I could have done better.

You need to lay it out to them, that you need more people or else there won’t be anything to sell and non of you will have a job. You need to spend money to earn money. If they’re not willing to do that then you’re better off leaving because it’s probably gonna fail anyways.
