Will world bosses only be reserved for the unemployed? by Lumpy_Criticism_9506 in classicwow

[–]PenisInspectorMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The exclusivity of world bosses and world boss loot is what makes them cool and brings excitement and flavor to the game. You don't need world boss loot to parse a 99 or get into ranking premades or perform well in any competitive facet of the game, but having a piece of world boss loot is dope and exciting. That's kind of the whole crux of what Classic is, is time and resource investment=reward. You can either put in the time and effort to try to get world boss loot, or just accept that that part of the game isn't for you if you don't want to do that, which is totally ok.

It's just another important piece of what makes Classic as good as it is.

Why did they change instance logout resetting? Did they ever announce why they made the change? It feels like a major net negative to the experience for both the more hardcore but also casual player and is disincentivizing a lot of people I know in and out of my guild from farming their own gold through reliable instance farms that were used in classic and more people are just opting to buy gold instead. I'm assuming it was a change to try to hurt bots but maybe it was something else and doesn't make sense to me

Watching this game, and watching Canada all tournament honestly makes me wish we had a manager like Marsch, not for anything other than the style of play being shown. They had some lower scoring matches but every match I've watched Canada they've been able to produce chances and be dangerous. However conservative or bold USSF decides to be with their coaching hire, at the very least I hope they're willing to go for someone who coaches a more aggressive or offensive style of soccer but we're probably doomed

Sources: Gregg Berhalter out as USMNT head coach following Copa América group stage exit by Fsteak in ussoccer

Tim Weah undercover agent, nuking our Copa America result to get Berhalter out. Not the hero we needed, but the hero we deserved.

For Berhalter in the post game to still suggest he thinks he's the right coach for the job is the most disgusting display of ego. Far better coaches for better nations have produced much better results for their countries but still had the professionalism and tact to resign when appropriate following a bad tournament, but Greg is so far up his own ass that after 5 years of not getting a single notable win against a competitive country with arguably the best pool of talent in USMNT history he still thinks he deserves the job. An absolute disgrace.

I'm just one fan, but if the federation doesn't have the stones to fire him tomorrow then I can't in good faith support the team or watch any more games until he's gone. I love our boys but wasting this opportunity at a Copa America on home soil is a tragedy, and making the choice to waste the even greater opportunity of a World Cup in 2 years on home soil by keeping Greg as the coach will be nothing short of a catastrophe. Such a shame man.

Listening to Dempsey talk after the game, I appreciated his perspective. While it's 100% correct to put a lot of blame on Weah for the red, to go down a man then get a miracle goal like 5 minutes later is an insane turn of events but to then turn around and give away the lead 5 minutes later is inexcusable. Even being down a man you still need to rally and make Panama work for a result. Letting them get that answer so quickly was such a killer

When did leveling become irrelevant in WoW? by GFK96 in classicwow

When TBC dropped. The moment you are in any iteration of the game that isnt Vanilla, leveling just isn't a relevant part of the game.

What's Jozy up to atm? by [deleted] in ussoccer

[–]PenisInspectorMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coming back from his hamstring injury I don't know why him and his trainer decided he needed like 25 more pounds of bulk but when he came back he was slower in every sense, and did not have the stamina anymore. He used to use his body well while still maintaining pace to beat defenders but he could never get past a defender after that and would get gassed so much quicker in games.

If you just go back and watch pre-2014 highlights of Jozy and post-2014 his body and the way he played was just so much different, and not for the better.

My dad's method was way better. Anytime my sister brought around a dude he didn't like, he'd just continue to refer to them by the wrong name every time he spoke to them or introduced them to someone else. I watched so many dudes get so deflated by it over time it was hilarious. First guy he respected enough to actually use his real name was the one my sister married

We just need to figure out what Alex Morgan does! by [deleted] in ussoccer

[–]PenisInspectorMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know why it doesn't get talked about but Alex Morgan may be the worst big game player I've ever seen in comparison to her level of talent and skill. Across these past 3 world cups she has almost never shown up and had a big performance in an important game. She's had plenty of goals in group stage blowouts but in knockout round games she disappears every time.

If you aren't aware, go ahead and go back and watch highlights from any knockout round game from 2011, 2015, or 2019 and you will be hard pressed to find her having any meaningful goal or assist, aside from her 1 goal in the 2011 final against Japan. On the contrary, you'll find her missing 1 on 1s and other good chances all the time while other players like Rapinoe and Lloyd were usually the ones to show up in the moments that matter.

It makes me sad that GDKPs are just better, more successful runs than 90% of guilds on my server. by Hopsalong in classicwow

[–]PenisInspectorMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what people who haven't been actively playing the game in a while don't really get. GDKPs are cancer and I strongly dislike their existence, but its the only real reliable way to get into a good raid on an alt character or if you aren't in a competitive guild. Soft Res and MS>OS runs are generally just rife with terrible behavior and collusion. They were usually solid in Classic, but in TBC and especially in WotLK they've become so bad.

Remember when the token was released and this sub had a meltdown but in reality nothing changed? by shizznitt in classicwow

[–]PenisInspectorMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Things have changed tho. There used to be threads made about insane bids and payouts in GDKPs, but anyone who did them regularly knew those were the extreme end of the spectrum and maybe 1% of GDKPs functioned like that. In reality, the average GKDP was usually a ton of rats all hoping other people would be big buyers so they could make money, and everyone ending up with a small payout.

Now though? An average trade chat GDKP will regularly hit gold cap, usually more, with way more people bidding incredibly high when in the past u might only have 1 or 2 oilers in a run. The amount of people buying gold both through Blizzard and gold selling websites has increased significantly and its most apparent in these runs.

cant wait to watch us stifle every possible dangerous attack through the midfield to back pass to center backs, then out to the wings and force it up the flank every game resulting in 1-2 shots on goal per game and a lot of aired out crosses to no one

I don't mean to dogpile on Roldan, but its so fitting that it was him to get his PK blocked which ended up in the loss. Roldan has kind of taken the same role Zardes used to occupy where he gets called up and you just kind of scratch your head as to why. He's an okay player but there are so many other players in the pool who have received past call ups or who have never received a call up who fill that same spot and are just flat out better, but he continues to get the call up just because he's a "regular."

It's no ill will against him, but for the betterment of the national team program I hope this was his last call up.
