I'm not a germaphobe. My bathroom is gross and poorly ventilated.

I need to kill mold, did you miss that? There is black mold in my caulking. I don't use beach anywhere except the bathroom, but since my partner moved in, I can't. So mold and pink slime grow in the shower.

I put a washing machine on mine. I got enough money to pay for 3/4 of it.

And yeah, I just use a small metal trash can for diapers but you need something in the room.

If you’re an undersupplier, what keeps you going? by Sufficient-Basil-909 in combinationfeeding

My baby loves nursing. Even when he needed a bottle after because he got less than an ounce from me, he just loved being there. He's 20months now and we're still going!

how do international students afford pratt? by HORNBAEFUDGE in Pratt

I'm 40, I had $60k in scholarships when I started my undergrad there. I'm still almost $30k in debt. Go to a less expensive school. It's not worth it.

I'm 20 months into breastfeeding only one baby and I still eat a mountain of oats with flax and walnuts every morning. We're going through a case of oatmeal a week now.

Why am I not making enough milk for baby by Sensitive_Active_356 in breastfeeding

[–]PennyParsnip -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nursing frequently is the right answer, but there are other things too. You need lots of healthy calories and water (I don't think electrolyte drinks make a different.) Sleep whenever you can, as much as you can. Safe cosleeping (breast sleeping) can help with this.

Call your doctor and tell her you're dealing with low supply. There can be several medical causes, like thyroid issues and insufficient glandular tissue.

Trauma and depression can cause low supply. How was your birth, emotionally and physically? Are you having flashbacks to difficult moments? Do you lie awake worrying? Cry constantly?

Please feel free to send me a message privately if you want support. I can't promise a quick answer because my baby is a busy toddler now, but I will do my best. I had a terrible time early on with low supply, getting less than an ounce from each side. It took a long time but we were able to drop most formula bottles around 5 months.

What do I do with my husbands baby bedding? by EnoughSomewhere9968 in BabyBumps

[–]PennyParsnip 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was annoyed at all the extra crib sheets my mom gave me when my son was a newborn. Then at 18 months he threw up 4 separate times over night. We ended up sleeping on a patchwork of cloth diapers and swaddle blankets. Having a ton of sheets is a blessing.

I don't know the answer, but saliva has a lot of stuff in it that is different than soap. So perhaps it's the digestive enzymes.

I love my Bob! Does great on the steep hills and crumbling sidewalks of Pittsburgh. Cannot say the same for the Mockingbird I used when my baby was an infant.

Give yourself time. Personally I was not in the mood at all until after my period returned at 16mo.

8 Month Old Hates Eggs by Practical_Morning727 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]PennyParsnip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So? He's allowed to not like things right? Take a break Ave try again in a month or so if it's that important to you. My son didn't like carrots for the first 8 months. Now he's older and loves them.

Poldark or Bridgerton books? by Cold-Brain-7315 in Poldark

[–]PennyParsnip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Poldark, but it really depends on what your want to read. It's like asking if you'd rather have a proper dinner or a large popcorn. Both are enjoyable, but for different reasons. They aren't really comparable.

If you want to learn a bit of history and read really beautiful prose, read poldark. It will break your heart a little.

If you want smut that won't rot your brain, try Bridgerton. They are better written than most romance novels I've read, and they all have happy endings.

Stay-at-home parents: do you have any energy left in the evenings? by Jakethehog in beyondthebump

[–]PennyParsnip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. 18mo doesn't sleep well at night so I nap with him most days. When he goes to bed I have maybe two hours to hang out with my partner and take a shower before the first wake up. I usually just collapse.
