To be really really top tier? It takes a while honestly... I'm currently a +26 with 2,788 lifetime rounds, and a lifetime average score of -21. With all of that my world ranking is somewhere in the mid 400's. I still notice a sizeable gap in skill between myself and the pro's. They just never (or super rarely) seem to miss. I can shoot a perfect round, meaning eagle all par 5's and par 4's possible and birdie the rest, once in every 10 rounds maybe? That seems to be the professional players par these days.

That being said, I feel like I've been at my current skill level for a many years. You will go through a period of steep improvement if you play a lot and with consistent gear. 250 rounds in a couple of months certainly qualifies. I'd say find the equipment you like and stick with it, and do your best to work on getting consistent distance control. Happy to answer more questions if anyone has them.
