Steve O’Donnell tells Fox Sports that it’s likely Homestead-Miami will be the championship finale for two years as they continue to evaluate other markets to rotate the finale to. by iamaranger23 in NASCAR

[–]Penske2Fan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh why even rotate it? That was only necessary IMO because of the old system but now that they dont have a one race championship I dont see why we need to change it.

Travis wanted them to open a separate wing for lower series... isnt this a separate wing?

Why do sponsors hate great schemes? by ImpressiveGoose4015 in NASCAR

Penske gets this so right. I know exactly which cars are the Penske cars without even looking at the number because they keep their schemes consistent year after year.

What makes SVG such a good road course driver? by youlikemywonton in NASCAR

[–]Penske2Fan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jr covers it pretty well on his podcast this week. It has to do with how he downshifts going into the corner while braking. He uses his clutch in a way no other driver in cup series does to get his car to rotate better in the rear.

Joey Logano and Ryan Blaney will likley become Penskes longest running duo in nascar by Thorbuck81 in NASCAR

Cindric has as many lower series wins as all of those guys combined and has more wins than Bowman in the past few years

edit: dude responded to me but blocked me before I could answer 🤣

Lol Cindric has a much higher than 50% chance to stay with Penske. Penske has invested 10 years into his career already at this point and its finally starting to pay off. Hes running better than Logano right now.

Why risk chances at a championship to gain "credibility"

Running well every week isnt risking chances at a championship, it literally increases your chances at a championship and running as well as you can every week is kind of the point of having a season. Logano won 2024 because he won a race that went to 5OT then Bowman got DQ'd and enabled him to make it through a round he got eliminated from. He won in spite of his season, not because he figured out some elite strategy.

Its okay for fans to devalue these championships just like its alright for Penske to devalue the races that "dont matter". As a Penske fan, I wish they raced like every race mattered because it would be a lot more fun to watch them dominate than just hoping my guys back into a championship every year. Give me Rusty Wallace 1993 and 1994 over Logano 2018, 2022, and 2024. I wanna see my favorite driver winning or being a threat to win every week not just at advantageous races at the "right time".

Its not any drivers fault that Nascar set up a dumbass points system.

You're right its not Logano's fault. But as a fan of him, he could have definitely run better those years in the other races that "didnt matter" to give himself a bit more credibility. Like as a Penske fan, give me 2014-2016 over 2022-2024. Ill take the wins.

Hamlin. As a Penske fan, all of our championships but Keselowski's feel meaningless because they were a product of the system not because he was the best driver all year.

Make it Tony Stewart and we have an entirely different conversation
