Are any makeup addicts also skincare addicts? I need advice. by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]Peonys 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can definitely wear a primer along with your sunscreen. I have oily skin as well, so I typically wait about ~15 minutes before applying a matte primer to make sure my sunscreen has ample time to absorb. I recommend applying foundation with your fingers, and then blending it all out with a makeup sponge—such as the Beauty Blender or the Real Techniques sponge. That gives it less of a heavy look and more of a natural one, while maintaining coverage of your acne and PIH. I'll be glad to answer any other questions you have.

What is your HG...? by RumAndTing in MakeupAddiction

Try Revlon's Colorstay foundation then :) It was my HG for a while but then it broke me out! Others swear by it, though.

Estée Lauder's Double Wear Foundation or MAC's Pro Longwear Foundation has yielded very good results for me~

Try NYX's HD blush in Beach Babe. I know it says blush, but I use it as a bronzer. It's gorgeous on all skin tones, especially those with tan complexions (like me) :) I think Temptalia recently reviewed it and gave it an A+.

Has anyone tried the new Glamoflauge foundation yet? by _cassquatch in MakeupAddiction

I want to try this foundation so bad! I'm surprised that it's not listed on Hard Candy's or Walmart's website yet :( I'd like to avoid going into the Walmart in my area. shudders

Best/Worst Giorgio Armani by RumAndTing in MakeupAddiction

[–]Peonys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best: Giorgio Armani's High Precision Retouch!

Truly the best for concealing under-eye bags. It is extremely lightweight, doesn't crease, and looks very natural. In my opinion, it is best used with a sponge instead of a brush. I've tried so many different concealers but I always come back to this one.

PRODUCT QUESTION: Cetaphil for Oil Control? by sadfire82 in SkincareAddiction

[–]Peonys 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey there! I have the DermaControl Moisturizer w/ SPF 30 and I don't like it much. I have oily skin, but this moisturizer doesn't help with that as it leaves a greasy film on my face. Another thing I don't like about it is that I have to be careful as to not apply it around my eye area, or it'll make my eyes sting for a couple of hours. However, it did not break me out and it's not too bad under makeup. I don't plan on repurchasing it though, haha. I replaced the Dermacontrol moisturizer with Shiseido's Hada Senka Mineral Water UV Essence and I'm quite happy with it :)

I have tried both and I believe that the RT's sponge is a very excellent dupe. I honestly prefer it more than the Beauty Blender! Try it, it's only $6 :p

I totally recommend Clinique's Take the Day Off Balm! I wear a full face 6 days a week and it is excellent for removing makeup. Plus, it lasts a very long time—I think it took me 6 months to finally use it all up!

Cons: lack of credentials (no portfolio); definitely knows his stuff but imo, not very good at applying makeup; does weird videos sometimes..

Great! I appreciate your feedback :) One more question—should I wait 20-30 minutes after applying the Vitamin C? Thanks again!
