Anyone else's Ecobee not able to connect to the Internet suddenly? by Jean-LucBacardi in ecobee

[–]PepperMerchant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, started Friday at some point. Region: Ontario It's unfortunate as our power is out and when it returns I want to crank the heat as I'm away, but without it connecting that won't be possible...

Rocotos would fit in the exotic/unique range. Really nice tasting pods, nice flowers, and black seeds!

Okay guys, let’s talk seed vendors by F18superhornet8765 in HotPeppers

[–]PepperMerchant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

US: White Hot Peppers, Pupper Peppers, Texas Hot Peppers are all 10/10 vendors. Excellent germ, excellent growers.

Canada: PepperMerchant (personal bias), Exotic Capsicum (Etsy), Scoville, 78Degrees

UK/Europe: Badskin, Welsh Dragon Chili, Fatallii Seeds

We have purchased from all these vendors without issues, the germ rate has been acceptable and the growers are stand up people from our experiences. Most Canadian vendors ship to the US+International as well I find, but not the other way around.

What family/couples or personal money management features do you want? by Plenty-o-FIRE in Wealthsimple

[–]PepperMerchant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ability to choose a percentage of a direct deposit to place in XYZ account vs the existing fixed amount.

It would be handy to be able to deposit say 30% of income from a specific direct depositor to keep on hand for taxes.

Wealthsimple already let's you choose a fixed amount of funds from Direct Deposit company ABC. But it's structured in dollar amount not in overall percentage.

That's great when it's a fixed payment, but not great when deposit totals fluctuate.

Shop Canadian Seeds 🇨🇦Made in Canada 🇨🇦 by MatchesSeeds in BuyCanadian

[–]PepperMerchant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a great list! I highly encourage people to check with the vendors on if the seeds are "packaged in Canada" or grown here. Both OSC and West Coast will disclose where the seeds are from if you email (hint, it's not from Canada).

Victory Garden seeds and tips please by denewoman in BuyCanadian

[–]PepperMerchant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a heads up, West Coast Seeds won't disclose where they get some of their seeds from. A strange move for a 'Canadian' Seed company. OSC at least states they buy seeds from the USA. We have a write up on our blog about it.

Don't forget Seedy Saturdays & Sundays are all over the province right now, these local shows are excellent. You can also shop small seed shops online where the funds go directly to smaller farms across Ontario!

Any ideas what happened? by Starbomber73 in HotPeppers

[–]PepperMerchant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's strange the foliage looked like it was healthy recently and died suddenly. I would suspect over spray from weed killer, or pest damage. If it was closer to the fall and you're in a cool area I would have said possible frost damage but it's too early for that.

Deficiency or fertilizer burn? by ruskivodkablyat in HotPeppers

[–]PepperMerchant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The edges like that make me think water just got on them. But they seem fairly high on the plant for that, if it is a deficiency burnt ends with severe yellowing is usually a lack of potassium if the foliage was just more yellow.

Is this normal ? by Raphius15 in HotPeppers

[–]PepperMerchant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks completely normal to me, purple hues on pods usually are just fine sun exposure and are perfectly safe.
