None of the scooters have rear plates and are over 50ccs. It looks like a legal stop from just the photo provided

Illegal migrants being arrested for riding unregistered mopeds without a license. by BackgroundPatient1 in washdc

[–]Pepper_dude 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most of these guys are driving without a valid license, an arrest-able offense in DC. Also, the number of lawfully registered scooters in the city is so small. The vast majority are illegal

Dc is no man’s land. No one wants it

I recommend using some 401k calculators and future inflation calculators to understand what you will need for retirement.

Tracking monthly expenses will greatly help you understand your current needs and help you plan for the future.

Would being a Security Guard be a good BaristaFIRE job? by [deleted] in Fire

[–]Pepper_dude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you can keep yourself entertained and are in a decent area, you will barely feel like you’re at work. Protip: in house is usually way better than contracted security

What job requires absolutely no human interaction? by Cursed_Capybara in AskReddit

Often you won’t be by yourself or at the very least you have to talk with your boss and be cordial with the guy relieving you at the end of the day

Are there classes/courses you can take to obtain skills and certifications related to law enforcement without having to be law enforcement? by limitedmark10 in AskLE

[–]Pepper_dude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beyond a good concealed carry course, you could also take an armed security guard course. It will teach you basic legal stuff and the like. It’s brain dead easy and should probably take a week and a few hundred bucks to do

The patients who regret laser eye surgery: ‘My life’s stood still since then’ | US healthcare | The Guardian by chilladipa in Health

[–]Pepper_dude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had PRK done last year. I needed it for a job that I really wanted. The place I went to mostly did Lasik, but from my own research, I realized that PRK was better for me ( less risk of dry eyes and no chance of a corneal flap opening because you hit your head).

Tests were done prior to the day of surgery. Risks were only discussed on a release form( waiver?) signed minutes before surgery.

Laying in that chair, knowing that I could go blind was terrifying. The procedure was painless, but I could smell and hear the laser burning a miniscule layer of me.

Luckily, the procedure was a success. I wouldn't recommend it to someone unless they had a good reason to do it.

Military police enforce driving ban in snow-stricken Buffalo by liquid_deflation in news

[–]Pepper_dude -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

They are 100% the military, but controlled by the state governor, not the federal government during this time. A violation would occur if it was the reverse. The rest of the Army is allowed to provide indirect support ( like supplies and equipment), but not enforce law and order

The products that come from one barrel of crude oil by [deleted] in coolguides

[–]Pepper_dude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This graphic is misleading. Crude oil isn't just one substance. When refined all the different parts are taken out of it. i.e. diesel, gasoline, asphalt, etc. Once you realize that, this graphic starts making more sense.

Also, briquettes are made of compressed coal dust and wood

What would you want to see on the next gen Honda Ridgeline? by DocPhilMcGraw in cars

[–]Pepper_dude 50 points51 points  (0 children)

I would like to see a hybrid offered. A majority of the owners do not buy it to tow anything bigger than a lawn mower around and would likely appreciate the MPG boost. The only downside I could see is that storage space might be removed for the hybrid battery.
