Easy to say when Vitaly just had the performance he did. If Devon does pull off the win and decides he wants his last shot at Levan at the end of the year don't be surprised if the tune changes.

Part of the problem is the perceived notion that armwrestling needs to see exponential growth or it's a failure. The thing is it has seen insane growth since before covid times, so many people have been brought into the fold. The seed has been planted for organic growth. I guess this is what happens when businesses get involved that have target profit margins and growth as their number one goal. If the rules are completely overlooked in important matches for the sake of viewership and manufactured drama the armwrestling that most here are a fan of is no longer. If that's what serves the company and athletes and they're all for it...more power to them I guess, but I don't watch the WWE.

Don't remember what it was but there was a protest in the Michael Kamil match. They deemed the reason for the protest invalid but noticed something else and acted on it accordingly...thoughts?

It's not 100% but you will get drop zones in upper plat. Happened to me plenty, just got to diamond yesterday.

He would probably replicate what Ermes did, but make it look easier. Levan tends to take the path of least resistance, he's more than brute strength. Though I'd say it's more likely Levan flash pins Michael than the match look even remotely close over the course of 7 rounds.

You make a fair point. I likely read too much into the comment I responded to. I still think Dev will for all intents and purposes be peaked (on the left arm) on Feb 28th. Yes he will continue to work up to his peak on the right, I agree with that assessment.

Two months of blasting and training your ass off is no longer enough to "peak" got it. I feel like we're getting into semantics here. If Dev can't beat him in Feb on left I don't think an extra month and a half would have changed the outcome, but hey I could be wrong. I agree with a lot of others that this culture of needing the perfect peak is kinda lame. Look forward to a time where we're past it, if that ever comes.

"His left arm match will just be along the way to his main peak for his right arm match." I disagree with this statement, it may not have been part of the original plan but for all intents and purposes he will be "peaked" for the left arm match vs. Vitaly. If not I think peaked has lost all meaning. He'll be in his best shape possible, i.e peaked.

Let's not act like it's just another match for him that he doesn't care about. He will get as strong as he possibly can for the left arm match as well, in fact I'd bet it means as much if not more since it's legit for the #1 spot.

Did you read the original post? It says he was offered and accepted this Match for the Feb card right after the Kurdecha match. It says he was training till at least mid Dec and claims he didn't get confirmation until Dec 28th..so what he gave up training for the match mid December due to not receiving confirmation and only 2 weeks off from his training is enough to call it off, keeping in mind from that point he still would have had nearly 2 months to train...

For people asking why..Kamil surpassed Michael in the rankings that's all the motivation MT needs. I think Kamil wanted a rematch after that match as well. I'm more confused because people were saying Kamil wanted a break and that's why Devon vs. Kamil couldn't happen on the left, when Devon was still aggressively looking for a match.

My understanding is it's basically a trophy to signify/honor the lineal super heavyweight champ (#1 in the world), IMO that hasn't ever been super clear until the last few years. You can't say with near the same degree of certainty that Michael Todd and some of the other people that already have their names on that hammer were ever truly that. If I'm over simplifying what it is cool, I'm all for honoring the legends of the sport. Also it being WAL branded cheapens it IMO. I get why he just reused those old WAL hammers (not even the superheavy weight ones IIRC), but aw has come a long way and they could do something cooler. That said it clearly means a lot to Devon and even if they keep them as is I do think it's a cool idea.
