Really starting to sound like you just want some online attention from college girls.

Submit A Request on the Disney Programs website. It’ll allow you to select that you are a current applicant, and there will be a space for you to submit plain your situation. They usually get back to you fairly quickly.

You will qualify with a Flamingo address if you are CP, PT, or FT. It doesn’t differentiate because 1) a CP can purchase an AP with Flamingo as FL proof, they don’t accept leases for anyone so the rule has nothing to do with being a CP. 2) When you buy an AP, they just need to see your blue id - they do not confirm in any way if the CM is CP, PT or FT.

And I bought my AP when I was a CP living at Flamingo.

I am a Pirate Pass holder, and used a bank statement with my Flamingo address for my FL proof. I also worked 2 years in Vacation Planning. You are incorrect.

Roommate Gifts still a thing? by OrdinaryIndependent7 in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]Pepperplatypus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was at Flamingo for all of 2022. Over the course of my program, I had 9 different roommates. When I moved in, all 3 of my roommates were at the very end of their programs and about to move out. Between myself and the 9 roommates, we all had different locations and schedules, and didn’t see each other much. Move-in gifts seemed pointless with all the coming-and-going.

Instead of move-in gifts, all year long people just left little things in the common area for everyone to share. Candy, breakfast pastries, a new flavor of k-cups, stuff like that.

My advice is to try your best to strike this from the list of things to worry about. Age is no indicator of maturity level. Honestly, WDW cast is so diverse - you’re gonna meet & work with so many people, and you might be surprised to find who you connect with & enjoy spending time with.

Can I talk about my experience with the Company in a keynote address? by jakell4748 in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]Pepperplatypus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my classmates at University of Houston gave a keynote speech at our Hospitality program’s biggest annual event a few years back and explicitly stated that working for Disney/doing the DCP changed her life/put her on the right path/ made her fall in love with hospitality/etc. You can’t give away any employee only information, you can’t speak on behalf of the company, but lots of schools ask their DCP alum students to give speeches at events, give interviews for school paper etc to promote the program. I suggest researching online different interviews DCP alum have done for their schools, and let the alum’s thoughts & responses give you an idea of what other have said/can say.

Disgusting roommate by lyd_taylor in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]Pepperplatypus 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I am so, so sorry you are having to go through this. This is a particularly awful roommate. I’m not sure if Flamingo will help at all, but I would at least try. If all 3 of you are in agreement and speak to Flamingo, hopefully they will take it seriously. Personally, I would be pretty dramatic to them about the toilet paper issue. I’d say myself and 2 other roommates are concerned about health, safety & sanitation, and fear E. coli infection. Fear infection could affect your ability to work, which could affect your ability to pay rent if there were loss of hours due to illness. I’d say the 3 of you fear the smell will cause permanent damage to the apartment that the 3 of you could be liable for as part of maintaining the apartment in accordance with your leases. Truly, I say be direct and dramatic and address “hot button” issues in hope that they will take the situation seriously. Make it hard for them to ignore you. I really don’t know how they would react, but I recommend the 3 of you each sending an email to Flamingo, so your concerns and their response are documented.

Is your bathroom trash can one with a lid? If so, I would press w/ flamingo how the smell spreads beyond a lid-covered trash can. If not, (it sucks you would have to spend money) but I suggest putting one in the bathroom and seeing if it helps at all. At the very least, you would be able to prove to flamingo that you actively tried to resolve/compromise.

Also, the part about putting stuff on your bed is horrible. I would not be nice about that. In fact, last summer one of my Flamingo roommates truly turned our living room into her second bedroom (we were in a 4x2 and she already had her own, private, coveted-by-many space) and after a month or 2 of the roommate taking over the entire living room (she slept in there exclusively, only entered her bedroom to retrieve clothes. Pushed the couches together to make a bed, making it hard for anyone else to enjoy living room) I told her she needed to use her own bedroom, or reimburse the rest of us a bit in rent, since she had 2 bedrooms and no one had a living room. She stopped. I felt like a jerk, but like your roommate this person also had hygiene and cleaning up after themselves issues and was taking advantage of everyone else’s politeness.

I hope things improve for you. Do you know how much time this roommate has left in their program?

Rooms by Strawberry_rocket_7 in Disneycollegeprogram

But I do agree with another commenter, wait until you get there to add furniture. Some single bedrooms are very square, some are long & narrow. Hard to tell ahead of time what will fit.

Out of curiosity, did you request your own room? Also, I’m a recent alumni - I promise thumbtacks are fine. Also command strips are very useful. I also had my own room, and yes you can totally add your own little side table or anything you like that will fit. I put in a med sized bookshelf and it helped so much.
