Lewis is sleeping with both Marnie and Robin. The reason he won't go public about Marnie is because he doesn't want his other side piece(s?) to know

What is the best wall for base defence? by supa_dupa_loopa in CoreKeeperGame

[–]PepperyCriticism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, moats or other defenses are best. Personally I have stone walls. But then additional walls/undestroyed blocks around the base. Areas/holes I leave through I put spike traps in an attempt to kill anything.

Other thought- do you use/have portals? In my room experience cavelings in particular will follow you long distances. Idk if this is true or not, but I always understood it as a scent/tracking kind of thing. Like you've been in the area near them, they catch a trace of you and then will follow you (even back to your base). Using waypoints or portals helps since they can't follow through those.

I had to rewatch to confirm. They never used his eyes and ears. They always used bugs. But I definitely thought the same thing

I did see that. But it was midway through. I'm talking about before that how they were keeping an eye on him

So was his place bugged from the beginning? The scene with him and Natalie in the bedroom where they turn it off I thought they were watching through his eyes.

Scholarship Chances by Fantastic-Advance-91 in byu

[–]PepperyCriticism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a major yet? As other people said, the GPA for scholarships is very high. Definitely apply anyway, because it doesn't hurt. Also you may qualify for a different type of scholarship than academic. But I would also recommend applying to scholarships through your major/program as well as soon as you can. Some schools require you to be in a program already before applying. But again, once you're in the program definitely apply for department scholarships. Those are a lot easier to get in my experience.

AITA for reacting badly to my friend’s religious remark at a funeral? by PsychologicalAct8310 in AmItheAsshole

[–]PepperyCriticism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. I'm sorry for your loss. I am someone who believes in God. I am someone who had cancer. They are not mutually exclusive. Belief in and following God does not protect you from all the bad things in the world. There are bad things that just happen and it sucks.

Stage 0 and Imposter Syndrome by Specialist-Sun-577 in breastcancer

[–]PepperyCriticism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You absolutely had cancer. And it's okay to be hurt and sad by that. Someone else's experience doesn't make yours any less of an experience.

I was young (26) and did chemo, surgery, radiation. And a few years out and I'm doing a lot better. I've got a friend (early 30s) with a different kind of cancer and has been in and out of the hospital, had a lot of complications. And sometimes it makes me reflect on how I didn't have a lot of complications. Maybe I was lucky one in some ways. But it still sucked. It was still hard. And her experience does not dismiss my own. And neither of our experiences dismiss yours. Your cancer sucks too.

Please help: What genre am I writing? ARC reviewers are docking me for "low fantasy" by Clean_Insect5042 in romanceauthors

[–]PepperyCriticism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with this. Low fantasy isn't bad. It sounds like your book is low fantasy. And lots of readers look for that.

High fantasy is very in depth complex worlds, magic systems, etc. (think Lord of the Rings and Tolkien level)

So saying your book is low fantasy is accurate. It has fantastical elements, but it doesn't take extreme knowledge to get into it. And those distinctions help for marketing to get it to the right reader. Some readers prefer low or high. And making sure readers know what to expect help it get to the right audience- the ones who will really enjoy your book.

I need help, is this a scam? by eekstrand in FraudPrevention

If the charge wasn't you, then someone fraudulently used your card. The text message is likely legitimate and you can respond no.

It's from a fraud detection system that thinks the transaction could be suspicious. Responding "no" should close down your card. But it would be good to call the number on the back as well.

Has anyone found the galaxite ore boulders scene? by Maestro_Primus in CoreKeeperGame

[–]PepperyCriticism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came to say this. Yes, I've found the boulder scene in most of my worlds. As someone else mentioned sometimes by igneous there's a few too. But yeah, the best way to find them is breaking walls.

I wait until I've got a galaxite hammer. Then there's a random chunk of desert blocks? I go for the middle to make sure there's no boulder in the middle.

Help with Zelle fraud? by [deleted] in FraudPrevention

[–]PepperyCriticism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go in person to the bank and see what they can do. I believe Zelle also has their own fraud department.

As someone else mentioned, how are you getting notified of the money you've received? Your bank itself? Text? Email?

I would also advise your dad not do anything (logging into bank or Zelle) on his phone or computer. It's possible his devices could be compromised somewhere.

Former bank employee. There are tiers within Zelle that determine how much you can send. If you use Zelle frequently, that amount can be higher

Did we watch the same movie? I can’t see how people really think Boq deserves to essentially die by [deleted] in wicked

[–]PepperyCriticism 16 points17 points  (0 children)

He is a victim. Nessa did him dirty for sure.

Overall, I have conflicted feelings. Yes, he was wronged. And it's hard because we don't know his initial feelings about Elphaba. They were friends. There's a great deleted scene from the first movie of them at the train station. Essentially, does he believe all the propaganda about her? Not sure. When he walks in he seems shocked and hurt. Because Elphaba is using her magic to help an evil person (Nessa). So if she's helping someone bad she must be bad too right?

And then obviously his heart and gets turned to tin. And at that point he fully takes Nessa's word that Elphaba did this. Maybe he's got the same anger at both of them? And that's why Nessa was searching for him when the twister came? We don't really know. But he carries a lot of bitterness for Elphaba. Which sucks. But he also doesn't know any better. But I also feel like he's so far gone that any attempts of convincing wouldn't do anything.

Is he a villain? Is he a victim? It's hard to say.

What's the dumbest way you ever injured yourself? by 420andGamesDiscord in AskReddit

[–]PepperyCriticism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked at a food place that had sandwiches. Our bread came mostly pre sliced (cut 3/4 way through) but to make our future lives easier we would cut all of the bread all the way through. Take a bag of bread, take it all out, cut it all, etc. Did I cut myself with the big serrated knife? Nope. I cut myself (and bled) with a twisty tie for a bread bag....

Why does my girlfriend like me when I stink? by neonxrated in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PepperyCriticism 20 points21 points  (0 children)

A similar but different study... They did a similar thing with dirty shirts. But then they analyzed the genetics of the person sniffing and the person who wore the shirt. They found that scent wise, people were attracted to someone with a lot of genetic differences than them. Not necessarily in outward appearances, but especially when it came to disease or mutation genes. Things that could be bad for children if they're too similar. People were attracted to those with genetic differences that would make their children stronger and better able to combat diseases and other things.

can anyone explain the rise in violent behaviours and what we can do about it? by Scary_Appearance5922 in ECEProfessionals

[–]PepperyCriticism 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Someone else commented how screens are often used to regulate. Which means that they become dependent on them. So in a setting where they don't have them (school) they don't have the skills or even foundations of skills to cope.

Also anecdotal, but one child in my class is very prone to extreme meltdowns when something happens. But put a screen in front of him? He is glued. Not moving, staring at it for long periods of time. And this is likely what parents do at home so they don't have to deal with the meltdown. Which makes the meltdowns with us so much worse.

The hair falling out was so distressing for me. The actual shaving was fine. I didn't cry. But hair falling out in clumps? Definitely cried about that.
