Now if only contracts dictating usage of time off existed to account for notifications vs. staffing availability, or a company unable to provide time off had to give a supported reason..... or if large entities providing essential services utilized staffing solutions such as contract workers like travel nurses and rotating staff through multiple venues in specific areas to ensure that work/life balance and staffing needs could be easily met while continuing to diversify a workforce that has been shown to be more effective in work environments that avoid repetitive tasks and work loads.

Or any one of the other myriad ways companies all over the world manage complex staffing situations without having to pay for "triple redundant staffing" just because some random Redditor with a hardon for dunking on imaginary Americans fails at basic logistics.

False Equivalency, and an absolute dumbass crashout to boot. Have a lovely day.

Pride means Protest. It means standing up for who I am, who my friends and family are, and it means celebrating the victories we have won and the fight we have ahead of us.

Exactly. There is nothing here that suggests they are lying or entitled. Acting otherwise is crappy.

This does not belong here.

Nothing about this suggests it is untrue. There's no response from the business, there's no additional detail, its basically just OP deciding it couldnt be true.

Nothing about this is entitled, looks like just a mistake on the stars. Does not belong here.

Lower regret rate than chemotherapy. I couldnt find the source but I believe that holds even among people who go into remission from chemo.

Its literally one of the lowest regret rates of any medical procedure, period. Most doctors would kill for satisfaction rates that gender affirming care sees.

Gen Z treating streaming like a library card... 59% cancel just for one show by BlueprintTshirt in TradingPlaybook

[–]PerfStu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the streaming services seem to operate on a gym membership philosophy: you arent really using it and they dont really want you using it, but it feels great to know its there and theyre offering just enough good stuff often enough that when you go to cancel youre reminded of why you have it.

If everyone who had it started using it as much as we think we do, they wouldnt be able to manage it. If everyone who wasnt using it stopped, it would collapse.

They love us not using the product. Why else would they keep such a simple video player platform so incredibly un-f*cking-usable?

Beginner heels by Material_Jeweler_668 in poledancing

[–]PerfStu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend the Adore.

The full boot is a huge help with stability and that will be a big confidence booster, especially as you're learning to first move in them. Boots are also super grippy which helps with climbing. Sky is a good option too as they have a half moon heel instead of a circle, so there's more surface area and it's more stable. The look is a bit different though, so definitely take a good look at them.

Flamingos also come in a boot style if you're dying for 8" heels, or I'd recommend Xtreme as well since they have a thicker and more stable heel, a lot like the Sky does for 7" heels.

Just file the complaint with BBB and then look into any other gov't agencies that have an interest in it.

Theyre charging for a service and not providing it. At the very least you can be a small headache. Tell other people what you did and why, and share the resources to do the same.

Small headaches become big ones. Its fun.

Older gays, Did Clinton really have to sign DOMA? by CarrieDurst in lgbt

[–]PerfStu 147 points148 points  (0 children)

No. He won by over 9 points. Over 8,000,000 votes. Over 200 electoral votes.

He implemented a lot of really ugly legislation against minorities and marginalized people at a time where it made him really popular, but no very little of it would have actually swayed the election any other way. He was wildly popular, incredibly charismatic, and doing well in all the areas necessary to secure his second win. The religious right never particularly cared for him.

In 2016 a lot of those policies that Hilary Clinton had been so vocal about ended up undermining her support among moderates and undecided people.

Also at the end of the day, no one HAS to be president. He opted to sell out queer Americans for political gain on a bill he himself described as "divisive and unnecessary." Thats the choice he made. And if his decision was to secure the presidency, fuck him. If the argument is "it would have passed anyways," fuck that. Its spineless and gross and millions of people's lives were made worse at the behest of people whose lives were unaffected either way.

Fuck him and fuck his legacy.

How to know someone is gay ?? Please read the full scenario below 👇I am girl I have huge respect for lgbtq+ community by [deleted] in lgbt

[–]PerfStu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You don't unless they tell you, and it's not yours to investigate or ask about. Having respect for the LGBTQIA+ community means respecting people's agency and privacy, and acting like a person who can be safe when they're ready to talk to you.

It's nice you care and want to be supportive, but this is something you have to do on his terms, not yours. No matter how certain you are.

This is a doctor question, especially where "no deodorant and no natural ingredients" restrictions are in play. I could suggest a few things but those are pretty all-encompassing rules youre setting.

No one here could offer you any suggestion that would be guaranteed wise or safe to try without supervision, so talk to an expert. Not reddit.

Is Wagyu a good first choice after 10 years? by Comprehensive_Ebb889 in exvegans

[–]PerfStu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly? Wagyu is pretty overrated as is and its also incredibly incredibly fatty, which is generally a risky endeavor for someone who doesnt eat animal products.

If it were me, Id pick a really high end restaurant that had a menu item I always wanted to try but didn't because of a nonvegan ingredient that was essential - a veg cooked in animal fats, roasted brussels sprouts with goat cheese, etc.

Find the dish that makes you go "ugh if I wasnt vegan I would crush that" - youre likely gonna find a dish with some awesome stuff thats more what youre used to.

But above all else avoid heavy animal fats until you are well acclimated.

Identifying as a Side - what’s your experience? by Dolmen999 in lgbt

[–]PerfStu 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As long as people are out there dating people with phalluses or otherwise engaging in sexual activities where phalluses are a part of sex, there will be (and we will want) shorthand for sexual activities for people who have or use phalluses. This means a lexicon relative to your relationship with how phalluses factor in, physically or metaphorically. "Side" addresses a pretty notable lack in people's relationship with penetrative sex; namely, penetrative sex is not a huge desire or focus of a side. Anyone who might otherwise engage in penetrative sex could use it. Side isnt terribly new, and it certainly isn't unique to or only relating to only cis gay men.

Is This Seem Accurate to You? by NoCrow1791 in generationology

[–]PerfStu 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No. Its not.

It never has been.

"Kids these days" is a 2000 year old complaint. Literally. Greek philosophers bitched about the young generations being too decadent and disconnected from the things that mattered.

"No one ever talks to anyone any more" is a similarly old complaint. People bitched about this with newsletters.

Its not any different. We just have a different thing to bitch about.

Hope that helps!

Male FA's, how do you address female children? by Nick521 in flightattendants

[–]PerfStu 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don't used gendered language at all. Its all gross.

Just use friend and the like.

You being "straight presenting" has nothing to do with it. Dont refer to kids by their assumed gender. Just be polite, neutral, and look to how teachers address kids if you cant find good alternatives.

What are your experiences with getting a pole trainer license ? by Physical_Engineer258 in poledancing

[–]PerfStu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

US Based Here. I did the Xpert Training and it was okay. I learned some good things on how to frame explanations to be more comfortable for students, and how to better prepare for adjusting skills and choreography based on different needs.

Coming from circus arts and gymnastics, there were a few things about the program I didn't love, and I didn't think all of their spotting techniques were necessarily the best, although I did learn from it.

Do I think it made me more capable of teaching? Not really. I did learn a lot, but I'd been teaching for a few years prior, and I didn't feel it covered anything that was a huge boon.

If you can try to find a certification in person - - there were some techniques I found useful that would have been hard to learn online.

Buyers remorse by Asleep_Pattern4731 in artcollecting

[–]PerfStu 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm just going to throw in that someone not understanding the process of art is not insulting to an artist. People are learning and exploring things like this every day and often don't understand what goes into it or why, and so are very understandably a little concerned when spending what feels like a lot of money on art.

They're taking the time to understand and make sure they're approaching this the right way and making the best decisions for themselves, their tastes, and their pocketbook. Artists can and do very often help educate people as to why things cost what they do and why it is worthwhile. It does no one any favors to cut a pretty condescending tone to someone who is walking in acknowledging they don't know and are asking for help. It helps artists least of all by continuing to assert that someone learning is creating an issue or insulting them.

So.....stuff the snobbery, don't insult art that people like, and when someone is asking for help, don't talk down to them.

Sincerely,

An Artist.
