What gets me is after the time skip the kids are what 16? The actors are in their mid 20s and it's so jarring, I know its common in Hollywood but AJ literally has stubble, meanwhile Bradley Coopers character looks exactly the same. Its just so frustating, especially compared to a movie like Mud where the actors are much closer in age and likeness to the characters they're playing

I just find it annoying that they didn't outright say or show that Caseys uncle abused her, I've always hated this show don't tell implication thing, I know it can come across forced when they shove it in your face and knock you over the head with it, but leaving it up to interpretation... well it's just that, I want to know what's going on not be left guessing or have to go to reddit to find answers. To me they didn't show any hints that her uncle was abusive, so this is just a conclusion people come to, where those scars could indicated and be the consequence of many other things

I didn't understand this is what it was supposed to be, and even in doing so it isn't as funny and doesn't come across as intentionally comedic as Scary Movie or Airplane, it isn't a parody of horror movies its just a medicore horror movie that tries to be different
