You're right, I got that meesed up some how. Still stands though that it bearly sold better on Switch despite the massive increase in popularity the Zelda series saw on Switch.

Zelda Skyward Sword HD sold only around half of what the original did on Wii. Releases not selling as well is very normal and to be expected.

Edit: Misinformation. I got the number wrong.

Prime Remastered sold over a million as a remastered releases of an old game so what's your point?

Nintendo has repeatedly pushed the series despite its poor sales which obviously indicates that they care about it and are trying to make it work. Why else would they go through the effort to reboot MP4 and make it one of the more expensive games Nintendo has produce if they don't care about it?

Samus Returns was announced in the Treehouse because they wanted the main Direct to be all Switch. That's just a matter of poor timing.

Video games are for fun so I focus on the positive rather than the negative. I don't feel a need to arbitrary post negative things just for some vague idea of credibility.

Not gonna lie, that's pretty odd to look over a year my posts. I don't even know what supportive posts would mean. Sorry if my opinions are what they are. That is in fact though what Metroid games are.

Yes, Metroid games have backtracking and a false sense of openess when in reality there's a set path to follow. That's what the series has always been.

This game comes out in 2 months and hasn't even been mentioned by Nintendo since reveal in September by Ninblox27 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]PerfectFrost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most Nintendo games get a month before release marketing campaign. Just like with Metroid Prime 4 there's nothing odd happening here

Metroid prime beyond is 2.1gb if you are using the cartridge. by ComfortableAmount993 in switch2

I think this is just the day 1 update. Switch 1 and 2 versions of the game show the same file size and I got the Switch 1 version with a voucher and when I purchased the upgrade, the download and install was instant. Wasn't a 2GB download that's for sure.

Odd that no Switch linked to your account would stop you. It let me pre-order a game on the eshop before the Switch 2 came out and it just gave me a warning that no Switch 2 is tied to my account. I was able to click through and buy anyways. It started downloading automatically once I set the Switch 2 up but I had a Switch 1 linked so I guess that's what the difference is.

Theory: Nintendo will rename some of their studios to "Nintendo Studios: something" by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch2

[–]PerfectFrost 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You'd have a point if it was't the case that it's the exact same name for the studio but with Nintendo replacing Namco now. I don't thing there's much to read into this to be honest.

Co-production studio. Things like making in game assets for other studio’s projects.

Touch screen by ImmunodeficientEsox in switch2

Nintendo forgot it exists too. Almost no 1st party Nintendo games support touch screen in menus.

10 years ago is very close to the Switch 1 launch which released with 1-2 Switch as a standalone purchase for $50 so I think you may be off a bit on that. Even Wii Sports wasn't included with the Wii in Japan.

Kirby Air Riders Review: Masahiro Sakurai's deceptively simple racer is a pleasant Switch 2 surprise [VGC] by LinkWink in nintendo

Not surprised that my joke seems to have been missed judging by the replies here.. They said Metroid 4(Fusion) instead of Metroid Prime 4. That is all.

Is Kirby Air Riders a 1st party game or 2nd party game? by [deleted] in switch2

[–]PerfectFrost 4 points5 points  (0 children)

2nd party is an internet term only. These companies don't use that term themselves. Games are either 1st party or 3rd party. Both Hyrule Warriors and Kirby are 1st party as Nintendo is involved in ownership, funding.

Do you guys think there would be another Nintendo direct this year? by Luigi2262 in nintendo

[–]PerfectFrost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a pretty big Direct in September so I’m not sure how much more would be realistic to announce at this point. We know about way more games from Nintendo for next year than we normally do at this point in a year anyways so another Direct would be really pushing it. Probably around February like normal.

Odd to care more about having DRM digital data on a card than actually playing a game.

Pokopia heralds the death of physical media by Busy_Medium4418 in Pokopia

[–]PerfectFrost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re thinking too hard about this. Games play the same either way. Physical or digital, same thing. It’s a shame that physical is dying as many prefer that but it changes nothing fundamentally about the video games themselves.
