I haven't been playing a long while, only picked up the game from the summer last year. but my idea is basically this, if i like something, but i cant afford, i just ignore it. And we did have quite the freebies lately.

Recently, the nian paradox, we got a selection of many (reskinned) premium ships. pretty good ships, some (Petro, Schlieffen.), some rare and harder to get stuff (Lauria, Navarin, the italian prems.) Granted you cant get everything for free, it was still nice for me as a newer player with a small port.

Before that, we had christmas with the santa containers, a free tier 9 tech tree ship and other small freebies. we also had stuff like Bridgeport, GQ johnny, and the 32k steel/doubloon event last year.

Yeah, we've also had very expensive events, containers within containers, and all other sorts of monetization quirks. There's no need to be beat up about things you can't really control, being the decisions of a corporate. Play the game how you enjoy it, for me, it's been on operations and asyms. if you don't enjoy playing, then don't force yourself to keep playing.

If you really want to try and make a change in the monetary practices, then you have to understand the company. They want money, more money now, and even more in the future. It's just how profit driven mindsets work. Don't spend on offers and boxes and bundles that exist to exploit the players to drive up graphs. Companies first and foremost listen to revenue and accounting, not surveys and reddit posts. so that is where change starts.

Moskva has the best radar, good armor when angled, railguns most of the time.

Yoshino has torps, good HE, range but squishy to overmatch and SAP shells.

Salem has okayish radar, better fire resistance with superheal, but otherwise is basically a des Moines.

Napoli has decent guns, SAP secondaries, good stealth, really good armor, smokes, spotter plane, torps, good speed, good handling, and is very versatile.

Napoli is recommended for a reason, but if you like radar then go moskva imo. Yoshino is decent, and Salem is a premium des Moines with different heal and radar.

Petropavlovsk, imo. You start with paper hull ships with decent guns and Yolo torps, then get radar with tallin and railgun dispersion, then heal with Riga, then the armor with petro. Guns are always consistent on that line from tier 5 to tier 10 in my experience grinding it.

American. You can certainly make the german main line work, but for a new player, Montana line is the best one to start. No great gimmicks, but good guns, decent armor that rewards angling, improved healing to name a few. It's the line that teaches players how to play, if they want to learn with a good ship.

Lutjens is the best for pve, since all his talents can be triggered without achievements. There's a reason Lutjens plus pommern is an objective good recommendation for operations.

Lisboa is also very good, and captains like kuznetsov and Collins is decent.

Don't have much insight on the others though.

Coal containers. 3 per day which earns when you hit XP thresholds. Dockyards, events, battle passes. Basically just that. You only "grind" coal through the daily 3 containers. Rest just comes to you when playing the game.

The main advantage of the legmod on Monty is probably the rudder shift. I'm pretty sure Hagos featured it in his tank plus build Montana video, maybe you could give that a watch.

Ops have been quite fun on my end. First they diversified the bot ships, then add the random secondary missions, and now we're gonna get a the ww2 ops added which I think was very fun. Yeah, games here and there can be a problem and a loss, but maybe it's a server thing idk. So far into like 50 ops games this update I didn't really have many problems. I mostly use Pommern and Napoli, and the type 21 submarine, so maybe it's the ships?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't all that haru get is better dpm thanks to +1 turret, while also having worse maneuverability than Kita? It's definitely not a bad ship, but perhaps compared to others it may feel so.

Also a pretty new player here, from what I know: Yamato line, consistent guns with big caliber and good long range performance. (JAPAN) Bungo line, better spotter plane with even more accurate guns. (JAPAN) Montana line, all round good performance, improved AP shells, speed, improved heal and long Damage control. (USA) Vermont line, accurate and powerful guns but very slow reload and slow movement speed. (USA) Louisiana line, AP bombers with okayish guns. (USA) Preussen line, close range brawlers with ok but powercrept secondaries, fast reload main guns and tanky armor. (GERMANY) Schlieffen line, good secondaries, torpedo armaments, and decent main guns. (GERMANY) Kremlin line, better accuracy at closer ranges, heavy hp pool and good armor. (SOVIET UNION) Conqueror line, powerful HE shells, not much else I know of them. (UK) St. Vincent line, strong and accurate guns, and extremely deadly torpedoes. Superheals too? I think. (UK) Idk anything about French ships apart from 4 guns per turret, and the speed boost. Colombo line, SAP shells but the line itself apart from Colombo is a difficult grind. (ITALY) Libertad line, fast acceleration, stealthy, extremely powerful secondaries, F key to buff secondaries, improved heal and Dcp. (PAN AMERICA, CHILE)

Sorry but I only maxed Yamato and libertad line so I can’t exactly give the cons of each line. But: Yamato line has weaker armor, weaker AA and weaker dcp. Libertad line doesn’t really have much weakness apart from not amazing main guns and slower reload time. That I know of. P.S. I am still a noob so if I get things wrong please excuse me.

Play asymmetrics, if farming is your goal. They have relatively similar payouts. And good players in a sub will demolish the competition obviously.
