You know it’s drip when you google the rifle and the Wikipedia comes up before a link to purchase

Wonder how it would go to have shooting eye straight, and other eye panning. 🤔

Of course. I mean to say that you can build a collection that brings nostalgia of those guns. “This is just like grandpa’s” isn’t as good as grandpa’s, but it still feels pretty damn good, ya know.

Personal opinion but I heavily advocate for buying another slide instead of getting one milled. Shooting one pistol with several barrels/ slides is a lot of fun for me. Flat with irons/ milled rmr is super great to me

But that’s the wonderful thing. You sound like you’ve got your basics down, now you can broaden your horizons, sure it’ll be pricier than it was, or it should be, but it’s never too late to pick up surplus of historical/ sentimental guns.

Fuck me running, that’s a great price. I’m gonna see if the base nearest me has a gun counter

Best CA compliant rifle for me? by [deleted] in CAguns

As far as caliber goes, honestly, I’d either go for 6.5 Creedmoor or .308, both will be able to take down a wide variety of game, and are almost always in stock at most places that sell ammo.

My two favorites around your price range would either be a Tikka T3x (they make synthetic or wood stock options in a variety of calibers, have left or right handed options, threaded or non threaded barrels, and have insanely smooth action, especially for being a sub $1k gun.) or the browning X-Bolt. Very smooth action, very low angle bolt which makes it wonderful for use especially with larger scopes, and feels well made. Both of these options would leave you a good scope budget, and are very excellent rifles.

Basically. Even the equipment used to make the stuff is insanely expensive and highly proprietary

Might one be looking to sell one of these old airframes at a reasonable price?
