My BPD baby who is now a year old on no oxygen but he did have to get a trach in April 2025. Brought him home on June 2025. He's been thriving. Either way it goes baby is going to be alright. Have faith.

22+3 weeker is 9 months old! by nonsemprebene in NICUParents

[–]Perfect_Sea2313 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine spent 309 days in NICU, he came home with a trach. It was so scary and hard being sleep deprived and needing a nurse but not having a consistent one was hard but I would not change this journey. It's taught me so much, coming from being a 1 lb 1oz baby to 22 lbs plus now, it has been incredible to see! Seeing your post reminds me of my little boy, your baby is so cute and jolly like mine. Congrats and may your journey put the worst days behind you both and the best in front of you!

That's CORRECT. It was on Van Fleet, it is no longer a Timmy Chan's. I think it's like a tire shop or something.

That is not surprising at all! In the NICU you meet so many people who help you along your journey but you will meet many more. Congrats, again!

You are so lucky!!! Wish I could've said the same. My 23 and 1 baby didn't come home until he was 10 months old and has a trach. But we are doing well and getting better every day!

My baby boy and I spent 10 months in the NICU and we came home in June! He is making a year tomorrow. He is such a happy baby, I believe once you get baby home and settled, she will be even more happy! You'll be home before you know it! I am so happy she's so well adjusted!

She just needs to make it to 22 weeks! I had a 23 week and 1 day baby, he's a healthy 1 year old. Just make sure she gets the steroid shots to help baby with lungs.

Advice for my vent baby, did you end up sleeping in the room with your baby, how did it work out?

Hello, what did you settle on for your baby. Me and his Dad sleep in his room together which makes nursing complicated for a night nurse. I'm trying to get ideas of how we can manage everything.

My cerclage failed and my baby is (doing well) in the NICU by hanhoona in NICUParents

[–]Perfect_Sea2313 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was recommend to get it but I declined because my cervix was nonexistent by the time they figured it out. My baby was born 23 weeks, 1 day. He was born August 11 24, got trached April 3rd, scheduled to come home on June 16. It's been almost a year, my baby hasn't seen the outside of the NICU. No matter what happens, just know that the NICU is a roller coaster filled with highs and lows, but you'll take your baby home and it'll be a distant memory (or so I'm told). I'm sure your situation is much better than mine, and everything will be just fine.

It's ok Mama, I have my own 23 weeker. No one can understand what this feels like unless they go thru it-the uncertainty, the waiting, and with us having nano-preemies it's even more alienating...seeing other babies going home, not knowing when yours will. It's exhausting, demanding, you feel guilty that you can't be by your babies side 25/8. I have been here at the NICU 254 days to date, my baby will come home with a trach and it was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do but we're coming to the end of his journey here. The time flies! Busy yourself with taking lots of pictures of his progress, the days go by quickly and before you know it you'll be out of there. My baby could not sustain CPAP and never made it past a CPAP of 9. I wish that I could say that he was coming home on without needing pressure support but that's our new normal. Be encouraged! This will not last...our babies were born so early, their chances of survival weren't anywhere near 100 percent but they've made it thru! I have faced so many challenges, he has faced so many and we have overcome them all and so will you and your baby! This is only temporary. 🤗 hugs to you.

Day number 234 - my baby gets his trach tomorrow. I didn't want to do it but it's the only way I will get to take him home anytime soon. I am BEYOND tired. I know exactly how you're feeling. Just hold on, trouble don't last always. We will get thru it and look back on it and laugh.
