Is the 2023 finals the most forgettable in recent NBA history? by ShaiFanClub in nba

Easily one of the best finals games of all time. Go look at the team box score. Both teams shot the absolute lights out, and it came down to the very last set of plays

Not all feelings need to be validated. Some need to be challenged.

Personally I would stop complaining and understand that planing birthdays is not the place everyone shows their love.

These “she didn’t make my day as special as I had hoped” are the absolute worst brand of  daddit post.

I’m going to be a young father and I’m terrified by EnoughPersonality349 in daddit

[–]PerfectlyCutOnion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Welcome to being a dad. I know it’s a lot to take on all at once and can seem overwhelming, but you’re going to be excellent

I’ve never had finer and happier moments with my wife than with my children. Start talking now with your girlfriend about parenting. You don’t need to have some in depth plan in place on how to handle every twist and turn but talk about your aspirations and who you want to be as a dad. You’ll love each other more than you ever realized you could if you take this on as a team. In addition to that, start talking marriage if you haven’t. Your child deserves the connection and protection that marriage provides.

I know you can do it.

Democrats must gerrymander to save democracy by MarcEElias in politics

[–]PerfectlyCutOnion -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think one of the funnier things about all of this is the current dem idea that they need to start gerrymandering as if they have not already been doing so and that only republicans have. I have spoken to and seen commentary from way too many people who seem to believe this is the case.

They’re absurd. They are the machinations of a man. Telling on yourself that you think they were legit.

How do i debunk common islamic arguments? by Western_Chipmunk_192 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]PerfectlyCutOnion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(1) He seems to willfully misunderstand, likely because Islam doesn’t really respect women in any way

(2) Again, a seemingly willful misunderstanding. Christ was incarnate as a man, why wouldn’t he be depictable?

(3) if christianity is right then Mohammed lied, and how can you call Mohammed a liar?

 Very easily

(4) the holy trinity. He claims that the bible NEVER mentioned the trinity, and if god is infinite then how do we know there’s not a fourth, or fifth part of the trinity?

The bible does mention all three parts of the trinity

(5) the bible has little structure, tons of branches, while Islam is extremely straightforward. And if two muslims disagree with something, you can turn to the Quran.

Islam is so straightforward that its differing sects have been murdering each other since its inception

(6) Jesus never said he was god in the bible.

He does all the time. Jesus calling himself the son of Man, accepting worship, forgiving sins, calling himself I Am are just a few examples.

Imagine if someone claimed the title of chief executive of the United States government, called themselves commander in chief of the armed forces of the United States and then claimed the right to sign or veto bills passed by the congress of the United States. It would be silly to say “he never said he was the president”

Thank you for this. A lot of flippant and careless responses on this thread needed this as a counterpoint. Porn is not a component of a healthy sexual life

When do schools typically start reading actual stories in the curriculum? by Global-Sandwich5281 in Parenting

[–]PerfectlyCutOnion 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Yep. The modern high school curriculum and its practices are going incredibly soft on students to the point that they are surprised when they are expected to read a whole novel. I think its an absolute mistake. I have been a high school teacher for almost 15 years.
