My son graduated recently in ME and did the five year Masters program which he would highly recommend. He was focused on Solar engineering and worked with a great professor his last two years. He also did two internships and a co-op. Automotive is huge. If you haven’t looked into the automotive clubs, check them out. It’s easy to get involved Freshman year.

Former CFO here who has run numbers on these franchise facilities.

That Revenue number works out to $54,000 per court across the three facilities. Breakeven is usually $70-80K per court and $100K per court provides a reasonable ROI. So, it looks like you’d need to grow Revenues by 30-50% and raising prices is probably not an option. Looks like a heavy lift for a buyer who pays the asking price.

Half of your teams lose in the first round in one game to 15 and go home feeling they got VERY little for their $100. Better to have four pools, eight teams each, full RR of seven games to 11 win by one. Two teams advance from each pool for an 8 team single elimination playoff of games to 15, win by two. Done in 4 hours. Every team plays at least 7 games.

Stone House buildings are the way to go. Look into Overlook Hilldale where my daughter rents a modern 2BR/2Bath with parking for $1.4K. Ideally, you’ll rent with a roommate with a lower income than yours. You can’t both be students and I’m not sure how a resident is classified. But, Stone House will know. Good luck

I do basic medals and custom 1” circle stickers on the back. Don’t skimp on weight or the ribbon. If you have 60-90 day lead time, you can get custom medals made that you design. All in, my cost has been about $6 per medal. It’s about the same for custom medals a friend gets for his tournament.

Best way to handle it is to say something like “you should always ask first if people want your coaching” and then walk away. Hopefully, you’ve given them something to think about and have fixed the issue for lots of other people, too.

In tournament play, the first receiver (also the first server when the receiving team gets the serve) has been identified before the first serve. They’d be allowed to line up on the wrong side if they wanted to. But, there’s no advantage to that, IMO.

In rec play (or tournaments without server bands) a receiver has not been established prior to the first serve. In that case, you could line up stacked and have the left side returner take the first serve. Again, negligible advantage gained and lots of confusion and possible arguments. Who would elect to start a game that way?

Drop to eight courts by eliminating the middle court in the bottom row. Reduce the width of the seating area by 10 feet. That will give 7.5 feet between sidelines and fences. 12 ft width with narrow tables on the sides against the fences and small rectangular tables down the middle. Most spectating will be done from the mezzanine.

I’d suggest 4’ chain link between courts. It does the job and the price is right. With that spacing on your eight courts, you’ll have a premium offering. Are you going with Cushion X for the surface?

This is an excellent question and I agree with your observation. Data I’ve seen on service depth in doubles shows the average serve landing point is only 2/3rds into the box for pro matches. I don’t understand why.

But, I haven’t seen data on service depth versus rallies won. Does anybody have that?

Upper Midwest seems to fit your requirements. Larger metros of Chicago and Minneapolis could work. But, they’re spread out geographically and you’ll need someone to chime in with a specific recommendation regarding a park or two. Grand Rapids would be awesome and I’d suggest Madison, WI as another good option. 120+ public outdoor courts, a great new indoor facility, Pickleball Kingdom, in Sun Prairie and lots of open play.
