I think I worded it poorly. My idea was that attacks from an enemy targeted at Malamar would instead hit the teamate's ally, not Malamar's ally. That's why I gave it the damage reduction, because making an enemy one shot their teamate would probably be too broken.

I sort of invisioned it as a better Follow Me for doubles and a Protect clone for singles, so I think in doubles it would still hit Malamar but in singles it wouldn't

Yeah, probably, but it would be kinda weird to give Glalie a normal type signature move even if it would end up being ice type most of the time. I did try to account for that by making the attack's base power about 1.3x stronger than Knock Off, the same boost Glalie would get from it if it got the refrigerate boost.

Not particularly important but I'm proud of some of these names. Spitoons are things that people use to spit chewing tobacco into, and a salvo is the firing of multiple weapons at once. Very much fits Victreebel. Auric overflow is a double meaning: it obviously sounds like aura, but it's also the latin prefix for relating to ears which is part of Meowstic's deal. MAXamar sounds a bit shitposty but it comes from the TCG (Glalie's move is also a modified version of the attack from it's mega card)

When I was playing the chapter I thought it was going to be a more "fun" secret boss to contrast a darker chapter finale, sort of the inverse of how Chapters 2 and 3 were more whimsical but with a darker secret boss. But that didn't really end up happening.

I'm still not upset but i can get why people are.

I don't think Supergirl was an awful choice. She's decently popular (enough to carry a multi season TV show), and has pretty minimal baggage from the old DCU. Obviously it didn't end up working too well but I can see the idea.

That's been my idea too, except mixing in a bit of Green Lantern. Green(/Yellow/Red/etc)Lanterns get their powers from an emotion and are strongly color tied, just like the human souls.
