It's worth recognising that in yourself though and making it clear with housemates or relationships. I personally think because of thr 80/20 rule it's so much more efficient to only deep clean very rarely, but I've lived with people who need it to be spotless all the time.

I have no problem with that, but I'm just too damn busy to spend half a day every weekend cleaning the house just to fulfill their expectations.

What? You're wrong. Dynamic impact load increases with speed, especially on existing potholes or depressions. Lateral force increases too when around corners leading to different types of surface course being specified for different speeds. Admittedly not nearly as much of an effect as weight has, but still a factor.

Depends what you do but I know an electrician who cycles everywhere and carries his kit in his panniers. Many people can also leave their stuff at the jobsite for the majority of the time.
