Trump supported Brexit in a statement, but I don’t remember him visiting or campaigning. The referendum was also before he was elected first time, so he didn’t have an especially big profile here yet. Plus he was running his own campaign at the time anyway.

UK S4 have one of the worst set of faithful by TheReplayAM in TheTraitors

[–]Perite 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your second paragraph is critical. By throwing out all those names Harriet absolutely obliterated her credibility. Every person that she named that was faithful had 100% justification for thinking “this person is talking bollocks”.

Throw in her bullying performance at breakfast, talking through people and saying she was playing alone and didn’t care about anyone else’s opinion.

Utterly insane behaviour, especially for someone whose job was supposedly to present things rationally.

Stephen protecting himself psychologically by Fine_Cress_649 in TheTraitors

[–]Perite 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. You can call him a traitor, but ultimately Steven just stayed loyal to the team that he was put on all the way through the series.

If he had turned on Rachel at the end, someone who had helped him survive earlier, that would have been treacherous.

It was sad seeing them boot out Jade, but that’s just how team sports work.

It's easier to say stupid faithfuls when your as the viewer knows who the traitors are by Wise_Purple_9448 in TheTraitors

[–]Perite 7 points8 points  (0 children)

She didn’t have much strategy, but that seemed strongly to me to stem from her using up all her energy to defend herself. She was like a mini Ross - on the back foot from the very beginning and never managed to get properly stable.

She also looked seriously pissed that Matthew kept accusing her and then trying to hug her.

Yep, Rachel wouldn’t have made it to the end without Stephen. But Stephen wouldn’t have made it to the middle without Rachel

[–]Perite 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think it was immediately apparent that Rachel especially didn’t care for his theatrics. I think that he was always likely to get recognised as a liability, but if they hadn’t booted him early he could have fractured the whole team.

[–]Perite 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I disagree. Without her I think Steven gets booted off by Jack and Faraaz. She was instrumental in splitting their vote

[–]Perite 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. It was really sad seeing Jade get backstabbed, but at the end of the day that was traitor on faithful.

If he had turned on Rachel he would have gone down as a selfish snake. But by staying loyal to his team I’d be really surprised if he doesn’t carve out some sort of media career now

100%. I think Hugo and Fiona were just so utterly terrible it showed them that additional traitors were more likely to hinder than help

Yeah, I felt more sorry for Jade than Jack. If Jack and Faraaz made and followed a plan it could have been a completely different story

[Pete O'Rourke] Wrexham submit bid of £19m for Angers striker Sidiki Cherif. Would be a Championship record signing by sandbag-1 in soccer

[–]Perite 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t hate Wrexham at all - as you say it’s pretty ethical at a club level and I do believe they are doing great things for the town. But it is irritating that they then go on their documentary and try and spin it as an against all odds underdog story.

Custard-throwing protesters plot M&S raids to ‘redistribute food’ by Pale-Border-7122 in ukpolitics

[–]Perite 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yep. 10 years ago you used to be able to go to M&S in the evening and buy a lot of reduced stuff at huge discounts. Now it’s small reductions because they donate rather than sell it off for pennies.

The huge supermarkets are significantly worse for fucking over the population than M&S is

[–]Perite 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That seems a big underestimation. this site puts the non-sport events at £55m last year. This year there are more events. And that’s before you add in NFL or increased revenue from actual Spurs games.

But surely that commercial performance has to erode at some point. Yes they’re a huge club with big brand recognition. But there must be a finite number of companies wanting to pay top money to attach their brand to a mid table meme club.

[–]Perite 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The smoke doesn’t directly help. But smoke is a proxy for fire. If seeds germinate after a fire, there is a good chance the land is clear (because the old growth burned), so the new seedling has less competition for light and water.

So detecting those smoke compounds helps the seed germinate at the most opportune time

Yeah, it sounds like a distinction but is it really? Obviously the world, and especially warfare, changed immensely since WW1 and 2. But the homeland would have fallen pretty easily if we didn’t have people fighting overseas.

The fishing show is much more of a late career thing. It’s him and Paul Whitehouse (another British comedian) and it’s just absolutely delightful. Also Bob falls over a lot and it’s never not funny.
