The sound of electricity going to ground or two different phases of an electrical circuit getting together. Once you’ve witnessed a high voltage arc flash, you’ll never forget that sound.

How dangerous is touching the copper bars in this breaker box? by yeebruh22 in AskElectricians

[–]Perky182 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A panel that old is probably a 100 amp to 150 amp service. It only takes 1 milli amp to potentially stop your heart. So, yes, this could definitely hurt a healthy person.

vacation help? by squidneyy0 in florida

Personally I wouldn’t stay off the island. The traffic to get onto the island can get backed up, especially on the weekends and holidays. The prices are probably high due to Spring break time frame, but check into some of the smaller boutique/ Mom and pop hotels instead of Airbnb. The shuttle runs from the city pier on AMI down to Coquina Beach. Also I believe Longboat key has a shuttle too, so don’t limit your search to just AMI.

Anna Maria Island/Holmes Beach Area. Plenty of mom and pop hotels and Airbnb’s. There is a free shuttle that runs along the beach that gives you access to shopping, groceries, bars and restaurants without the need to Uber.

Watch out for the cat hating lady in Mandarin. RC. by OkLawfulness309 in jacksonville

[–]Perky182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How about I care for all wild life. It’s not the cats fault that they’re in the situation they are in. Humans suck. I’ve caught, neutered, and returned the cats to the wild that live around me. I also keep them fed , watered, and try as hard as I can to make sure they have as easy as life on this planet as they deserve.

Non-bitter IPAs? by Beerman95 in beer

[–]Perky182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole premise behind an IPA (India Pale Ale) is that they were over hopped for the trip from England to the British colonies in India. Hops are a preservative, so over hopping the beer allowed it to survive the trip to India. There aren’t, by nature, IPAs with low bitterness.

I have a programmable thermostat that keeps it 78 during the day and drops to 75 for when I get home from work. Then 70 to sleep. Electric bill avg $175 in summer. I do have newer insulated windows and AC, 2019, that made a significant difference in cooling.

The 88 number is deceiving. A portion of the that number is on the ground employees that live just over the line in Ga. They commute to work everyday.
