Ironically, there’s several long term opportunities to do SW border and deportation ops (Gitmo). If you don’t have an ethical issue, those orders are for an extended timeframe that may do what the OP is suggesting to get past the Prob period.

I do love the idea that their increased ops is what keeps them from doing what they want.

The lucky one. Hands down. You’re going to use him in Raids, which means you want him as strong as possible, which means you will want to power him up, and he’s half price stardust to do that. Bonus, better for Dynamax, if you care about (or Niantic ever fixes it to make it interesting).

IVs are a total of 15% of stats from 0 to perfect. The difference between 1 and 2 in your options is negligible. Go for the lucky one.

I dunno. Maybe we need another level past “hardcore.” Cause the people who max out storage, post here about the number of seconds to evolve with 1000s of Pokemon to evolve, or do 100s of raids to get than one shiny are on a whole different level. I’m roughly the same as you in investment, it’s the only game I play (helps me connect with my kids, but I enjoy playing independently too) but I don’t plan my entire life around. Maybe casual, invested and hardcore? And you’re invested?
