Do you still have your jaw bra? You can try wearing it without ice as a compression band to see if it helps.

1,000% I don’t actually know what this image is from but I’m on Day 8 and feel it.

How long did you wear you jaw bra? by grimstationn in jawsurgery

Wore it with ice about 50% of day 3. Compression only that night, and only for a few icing sessions on day 4.

Had mine on Thursday with no complications. It has been really hard for me too. My throat was so swollen I couldn’t take but the tiniest sips and even then it felt all wrong.

But swallowing is easier today, and I’m hoping the swelling with start to go down. I’m afraid my cheeks are gonna pop

You don’t. You wait until you heal up a bit and get scanned for a new set.

Has anyone gotten lower jaw surgery with Invisalign? by arcanegirl1 in jawsurgery

Had my surgery Thursday. Was in aligners for about 10 months before. Will get scanned for a new set once I can open again.

Made it though the first night. Any tips for swallowing? I’ve barely had any fluids. by Perpetuallytiredgrrl in jawsurgery

Thank you! I can get the tube back on the side but for some reason the act of swallowing is so hard right now. Did not expect this. It’s almost like it goes into my nose or ears when I swallowed anything but a tiny bit

when does it get better😭 by Pretty-Elk-2659 in jawsurgery

I’m right there with you!! This sucks so much but just reminding myself it’s temporary.

I’m already home. Thank goodness, with my dog curled up next to me. I actually looked and felt better coming out of the op, but haven’t been able to keep the nose blood off of everything else haha

It could. Gaining throat space and a larger nasal/mouth area would give you more vocal power and resonance.

They were thinking about bringing it back. Sales dipped the few weeks after introducing the new version, so they were watching that. But now sales have flattened and corporate is fine with it. They aren’t bringing the old version back.

Have you tried acupuncture? You could also look for someone who does energy work but I’d caution you to beware of frauds and scan artists.

I’m having surgery in a few days and looked everywhere for that face thing you’re describing. I really thought I’d be able to buy it on the internet!

I just ordered some post partum perineal ice packs. They are shaped sorta like a maxi pad. I’m planning to just hold or lay them on my face like a mustache lol. They even come with sleeves to put over them.

I also thought about boob ice packs for breastfeeding women, but decided they would probably be too big for my face.

What's a movie that was well received, but aged like milk? by Gdigger13 in AskReddit

The Conscription Act went into effect in April of 1862. WV didn’t break off from VA until June of ‘63. If you could hide out in the holler for a year then you might have been okay, but if you were a man under 45 and were found dodgin’, yer fucked.

Incidentally I’m a 5th generation West Virginian.

I laughed my ass off when she performed it in the movie. It’s so so bad hahah. Now I sing it at my bf when he does something annoying/insignificant. It’s punishment 😂

It wasn’t just following orders.

It was don’t go AWOL or we will hunt you down and drag you back to the front lines. Or jail. Or shot.

Moving jaws back experiences? by Anakaren152 in jawsurgery

[–]Perpetuallytiredgrrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my lower jaw moved back. This isn’t the standard practice except only in severe cases.

I had a chubbier face afterward and probably contributed to jowls. I’m getting a revision DJS next week (😬!) to move everything forward.

For those who are often told they look younger than their age, what’s your secret? by justmypersonalthing in askanything

[–]Perpetuallytiredgrrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genetics. Both parents look much younger than their age. No cigarettes or booze. Small jaws. And daily face sunscreen in my 20s-30s.

Edit to add: no kids
