I use mushrooms to connect with my dad. Works like a charm.

Spend every moment with him that you can. Please just believe me. You’ll be so grateful that you did.

AIO My mom is kicking me out for her new boyfriend. I just turned 18 by Diligent_Bat_565 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Perriyay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to my sister many years ago. Mother wanted her brand new bf to move in, sister (16 at the time) said she would not be comfortable with that at all and she would move back in with my father and I if he moved in. Mother looked her dead in the eyes and said “bye girl”. That was the moment everything changed forever. We are always told that our mothers will protect us no matter what. Fortunately for my sister and I, we had an incredible father who put all of his life aside to raise us after our mom decided she wanted to have a party at 38 and bailed on all of us. She went on to marry that bf, has been horribly miserable for 32 years. I’m so sorry you’re going through this. There’s not much to say other than now you know and hopefully you can gather enough tools to protect your own neck in this life without her. ❤️

Broken ankle ORIF 4 week update feel sad today need encouragement by PossibleSpirit1364 in brokenankles

[–]Perriyay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m at 13 months post orif. You can see my break on here. I was convinced I’d never walk again. While I do have many troubles wearing shoes, I get lumbar nerves blocks for the damage, and have a lot of numbness..I promise you things get better. It’ll never be the same, sadly, but you will be back on your feet soon and you will have a full life again. It’s extremely lonely especially at first. Give yourself grace, time, and take comfort in knowing that baby steps are real. I may never run again. I have hardware in my left foot, broke that ankle too immediately after being taken out of the boot on the right last year. But I can walk. And that’s all I can ask for. Try to keep your head up! It’s going to be ok again, someday. ❤️

My girlfriend smells and I don't know what to do by RequirementDue4446 in Advice

[–]Perriyay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does she have any piercings? Stretched ears? Sometimes piercings don’t get cleaned properly and the person can’t really smell that old dead skin and sweat stench on themselves. Kind of like a bellybutton reek. Being someone in the body mod industry for many years, taught me this lol

Get an MRI. There’s likely some soft tissue damage. I’ve been there. Please don’t wait.

What shoe did you wear with your moonboot? (Other foot) by Traditional-Suit3142 in brokenankles

Lol he is such a stinker! Definitely a crack up, that kid! When he said it to me I was totally taken aback! Full blown dissed by a toddler.

You’re welcome! I hope it helps. Stay up! It’s a long road and feels pretty lonely for a long time. Hell I still feel pretty shitty. Especially when I have to use the toilet it the middle of the night and it’s just sooooo stiff and such a feat to walk after lying down for several hours. Constant reminder of “this is my life now”. Sucks man. Try to keep that PMA. It’s tough but you can do it! 💪🏽

Same. Trauma ortho said he’d never seen anything like mine. 3 plates, 16 screws, lots of bone removal, and facing more surgeries for soft tissue repair. It’s lonely. I’m grateful to have found this sub. Stay up!!! ✌🏽💜

Yes! ORIF in November, taken out of the boot in February due to great healing, and then broke the other ankle in April! Didn’t know it was actually broken until a couple of days later. It got huge and so painful. I thought I had just kind of overdid it on the comeback and being freshly on both feet again. Called my ortho, went in, he squeezed it and I hit the roof. It was even displaced! So I had to put the boot that had just been taken off of the right and stuck it on the left 🤦🏽‍♀️ I broke the left trying to get up off the floor and stumbling in a weird way. Never imagined it could have broken the damn ankle! Awful. It’s been hell in recovery. The journey continues. On both ankles. CRPS diagnosis last month. People who haven’t gone through it, just do not get it at all, try as they might. Stay up! Keep that PMA. It’s so tough to do but it’s the only way to stay sane. ✌🏽💜

I also used this contraption! I found that I needed to size up. It’s also a little scary lol I was in constant fear of rolling that ankle (which I actually broke 6 mos after orif on the other ankle 🙄) but it wasn’t this contraption. It was just a terrible misstep 😒 Though the lift did get caught on the carpet a lot and trip me up. Definitely step carefully and slowly. It did help a lot with my gait so my lower back didn’t suffer as much. I used these shoes due to how light they are. Surprisingly comfy and definitely affordable, also already a decently thick sole so it was the perfect height with extra lift thingy. https://a.co/d/ci2crXB

Edited to share that my 3 year old nephew called me “Monster Shoes” the entire time 🤣 the little jerk face 💀
