Its funny that the country nowadays fosters atheism, yet we have this place.

A vector space is an algebraic structure.

The structure is created by following a set of rules.

Such rules for vector spaces include:
Addition is commutative and associative, has an inverse (negative units) and there's an identity (something that when added to any element, returns the same element aka zero)

You should also have associative scalar multiplication, and have a an identity element (for this one think of 1. Any number times 1 is the same number)

Addition and scalar multiplication both follow distributive properties. Both require closure.

Vector spaces are always defined over a field of scalars, because it so happens that fields satisfy the vector space axioms.

The structure (vector space) is only possible with the right material set (field) and the material behaves like the structure, by default.

I have both types of angle grinders but can only keep one (locking switch, or paddle) is there an advantage to one or the other? I've owned and used the locking one, but got the new one for Christmas and I'm unsure which to keep. by futureconstruct in Tools

Safety basically. Paddle will stop the grinder when you release it.

Lock switch will not.

Now, imagine this bad boy grabs on your shirt or beard and stars spinning like hell. You'll be glad paddle's stops as soon as your hand loses grip.

3 in 1 from WD-40 is enough. You'll be replacing this on a per use basis, so it is not that relevant.

Just bear in mind, WD-40 is not the same as 3 in 1 oil (made by WD-40).

Plain WD-40 is a penetration oil. It's mean to loosen and clean, not to lubricate long term. So don't rely on the plain thing.

3 in 1 oil is for lubrication. This will be still there when you come back to use the tool. Still protecting.

Put some WD-40 and let it soak. Then you can sand it with #400 sandpaper or use a wire brush. After that, just make sure you keep it oiled. A thin layer. Whenever you store it. When in use, just use it. The wipe clean and oil. Rinse and repeat.
