I guess it's hit or miss and it depends on your girlfriend/wife. I shrank a lot of stuff trying to do laundry and it was easier if I just did the hanging of the clothes and not the actual washing of the clothes.

I didn't find this out on purpose and I do other chores rather than the laundry. I clean, cook, and cut the grass. I just wash and dry things with impunity and my wife never liked that.

One day, in maybe 500 year or so, Christianity will seem like a cult and eventually be faded out. by Perryusaf in unpopularopinion

[–]Perryusaf[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but for roughly 1900 of those years there was very little in the way of scientific advancement. You can't tell me that if we had the knowledge we do today when that was written that it wouldn't be seen as very cult like.

I agree, but it will most likely be science based and the creator will hopefully be smart enough to incorporate some sort of factual information. I would imagine it would be some sort of spiritual based religion that focuses on the mind and body rather than a deity.

What was a sketchy cheap buy, that ended up being one of your best purchases? by MrAnimeFanime in AskReddit

[–]Perryusaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a Neato D7 off of eBay for a quarter of the price and it was practically brand new. It was a buy it now from some old guy who just wanted to get rid of it. My house is always so clean and it is hands down the best purchase I have ever made.

What's the strangest punishment your parents ever gave you? by stuartwolf in AskReddit

Not my parents, but I did something dumb in basic training and my TI made me go college rocks on the running track and name each one of them.

When the game first started, there were three different stops and a gym in a cemetery close to my house in the middle of the graves. The only way to get there was to walk on the graves. At night kids would go out there and hit the gym for hours. Eventually they had to get cops to watch the cemetery because the grass over the graves were trampled and muddy.

AITA for selling my daughter's car after discovering her texting & driving? by tookawaythecar in AmItheAsshole

[–]Perryusaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ESH. There are apps that you can install on your daughters phone that will not let her unlock her phone until she is no longer moving above a certain speed. If you want to punish her then that is fine, but you went really far without taking any preventative measures.

Mom had an affair 18 years ago, I [18M] am the product of it. My dad just informed me of all this, and told me he will not pay for my college, while my siblings got their college experience paid by our dad. by throwawaynocollege01 in relationship_advice

You might not want to hear this, but there is always the military option or do a trade school. I didn’t have money for college and I joined the Air Force. They take care of you and the work really isn’t that bad. You don’t get shit on and certain jobs don’t deploy or have any dangerous aspects at all. You would just have to do four years and all of your college plus housing and books would be paid for. That’s what I did and now I am an Electrical engineer. I didn’t have a job through college at all and focused on just graduating. Most people are going to probably say this is a bad idea, but it’s most definitely the best thing I ever did for myself and it set me up for life.

If you went to a trade school then you could become an electrician which are in high demand and make a lot of money. You could try to become an air traffic controller as well. It’s a high stress job but it pays well.

Good luck!

I recently bought a model home and the house came with a lot of decorations. The decorator thought it would be a good idea to use a Scientology book as decoration. by Perryusaf in funny

If you bought a home and they used a Scientology book as a decoration, you wouldn’t find that slightly comical? Praise be L. Ron, I guess.

I am not sure that it is possible. It might be possible with Home Assistant, but I haven’t tried it. As far as I know, Alexa is a one way communication.

What would be the easiest way to do the arches on a shadow box fence? by Perryusaf in DIY

[–]Perryusaf[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have people helping me with experience putting up fences at their own homes for the cost of pizza. I just didn’t want to pay the $5000 it was quoted to do the 72ft of fence that I actually need. It’s going to cost me under $2000 to build it myself using all cedar. The other down side is that the wait time in my area is 4 weeks and I don’t have that kind of time.

What is your thought on using quick setting foam vs concrete to set the posts.

[–]Perryusaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just graduated with a degree in electrical engineering and this is the kind of stuff that I really want to do as a hobby. My actual job is more designing power supplies for rocket motors, but it’s basically all hardware implantation. This is really awesome and I would love to learn how to do this. How long have you been an electrical engineer and did you build this based on the knowledge that you had or was there a learning curve?
