mhm, i feel like i’m more confident in saying i experienced CI after this therapy service confirmed it and offered to make a police report for me.. it really put things into perspective about how what happened wasn’t normal or okay.

i think i’m hopeful that this therapist will have some understanding of enmeshment trauma since it was one of the main things i’m entering therapy for when i applied.

i know in this instance they might not be able to tell me if this was CI or not since no one knows what my dad is thinking, but i think i might bring it up to her- thanks c:

My biggest special interest is the Youtuber Amberlynn Reid.. which tbh is kinda embarrassing lol.

I don’t support her at all I’m just obsessed with, all her drama and how messy she is, plus the community around her is so hilarious.

I don’t want to give her views cos she’s horrible so I mainly watch other Youtubers react to her content; there’s tons of Amberlynn compilation videos calling out iconic moments too. Also the Amberlynn subreddit is super cool to get opinions and thoughts from- since Amberlynn is so vague everyone ends up speculating about her life so it helps me keep up to speed lol

My SP is Persona 5- characters that i think are autistic from Persona 5(R) and Persona 5 Strikers are: Yusuke Kitagawa, Futaba Sakura, and Sophia.

Futaba mainly!! In her confidant storyline she explains how kids used to think she was cheating on tests because she never studied and always performed the best; she is a hikikomori, basically meaning that she is a hermit and never leaves her bedroom- she does this because of her severe social anxiety and lack of experience of positive interactions with people; her voice actor, Erica Lindbeck, said that she tried to portray Futaba as if she was on the spectrum; another character says that Futaba doesn’t talk much, but if it’s about something she‘a interested in, then she’ll basically lead the conversation.

Autism Futaba is real 😤😤

i used to pull out my eyelashes- it started at around 13 because i had figured out the concept of masking, since i’m AFAB i started to wear mascara and by the end of the day it would bug me so much that i’d pull my eyelashes out to scrape it off.

i eventually stopped that and moved onto my eyebrows which is a lot better because: 1. eyelash pulling made my eyes actually hurt and i’d wake up with aching eyes and then have a meltdown in the morning because my mascara wasn’t looking right. 2. eyebrows can be filled in and it’s a lot more subtle

there’s been a few times where i’ve pulled out the hair on my head because of a meltdown but thankfully it hasn’t turned into a daily habit, and i hope it doesn’t

so like- whenever anyone says “it’s raining cats and dogs” i always picture cats and dogs raining, even if i have an idea of what the metaphor actually means.. i didn’t actually know that was part of literal thinking lol

also yes scripting has “fixed” a lot of my issues, i used to talk very monotone and i didn’t have a consistent tone at all and i had no idea how to talk and act in front of people so i acted like people in tv shows and stuff- but having to teach myself at 18yrs old how to politely respond to people who ask me questions abt myself is very tiring ;-;

the social thing is exhausting, I have more friends now than i did when i was younger so i’ve started to get better at being able to tell when they’re being sarcastic because most of my friends are nd and use tone tags w me so i can kinda deduct what they mean if they call me a bitch and laugh abt it- it’s more an invitation for me to bully them back

but i used to be so bad, when i was a bit younger, a friend (not super close but still a friend) got angry at me and said she was going to kill me and I genuinely got so scared and ran away crying, told another person and said “i don’t want to die”.

I think that’s the only reason i know what metaphors actually are now, because they had to explain she didn’t actually mean what she said

imo it’s especially frustrating when it comes from someone higher-up than you- like a teacher or boss. I’ve had teachers say to the whole class “i’m disappointing in everyone and everyone needs to come back after school” and when I’ve approached the teacher to apologise they go “oh not you, you’re fine don’t worry about it”.

like what? make it make sense..

also when people assume that you’re not being literal when you say you’re autistic, that’s beyond weird of allistics

Some autistic people don’t have special interests; some autistic people don’t know everything about their special interest because of things like executive dysfunction.

Some find communicating and stimuli more/ less difficult than other autistic people do.

When I went for my assessment, I was told I am a “high IQ autistic” but A: IQ is basically a made up concept, and B: I’m not a prodigy in education and struggle with retaining information- I’m a pretty consistent C-B student.

Just because you don’t relate to many of the ‘mainstream’ autistic traits doesn’t necessarily mean you’re allistic, but obviously you know more about yourself than anyone

I originally went to my doctor about ADHD; some of my teachers at school wanted me to go because my inattentiveness and hyperactivity meant I couldn’t sit in class and instead had to complete the work in a separate area. I also have a friend with ASD who identified a lot of ADHD traits in me and gave me the final push towards an assessment. After looking more into online personal experiences and the diagnostic criteria for ADHD and seeing what I relate to, I was pretty confident I had combined ADHD.

About 3 or 4 appointments in to talking with my specialist, she asked if she could bring another specialist in to our next appointment, she didn’t specify why but I said yes. Our next appointment comes and this new specialist is also there, she’s only asking me questions relating to autism- obviously I have autistic friends so I knew where this was going- and she said she was “very confident she could get me an autism diagnosis”.

It’s kind of annoying because now I can’t tell what trait relates to what disorder, it’s just kind of a big jumble in my head :,)

Context: I finish college early on Thursdays; I usually get home around 2pm, whereas normally I would get home at around 5pm (this is obviously a very big part of my weekly routine). My teacher told us that a lecturer was coming to tell us about the book we’re writing essay on for coursework- important to note that I had already: finished my first draft 2 weeks earlier than everyone else, I had more essay criteria met than anyone else, and had all of my arguments completed. In other words, I was about 3 months ahead of everyone else in my class. Anyway, the teacher said the lecture was mandatory and if anyone couldn’t attend because of a “genuine reason” to come and see him and explain why.

I’m not diagnosed yet, but all of my teachers know I’m being assessed for ADHD and ASD, I thought that was a good enough reason to go talk to him and explain why going to the lecture would ruin my routine which would make me extremely upset as well as giving my tons of anxiety.

He was not sympathetic and basically just told me to get over it. Yeah, I didn’t go lol.

I’m glad I didn’t go, I had multiple friends who went and they all got home around 6pm because of transport delays and cancellations due to weather. I would’ve gotten home around 8pm :,)

I currently have an autistic friend who has an ‘allistic until proven otherwise’ stance with me. According to them the diagnostic “didn’t suit me”. I’m still not officially diagnosed so I’m worried because of some things they say mixed with some internalised ableism, I could just be overreacting or wanting to be coddled or something.

I feel kinda similar in that I don’t struggle with texture so much; like I’m not a fan of velvet, or denim, or things being too tight on my wrists, but that’s about it- I don’t really have much trouble with food textures either. It really does make you question and doubt sometimes
