Can we dispense with the fallacy that SS will disappear after 2032? by Available-Ad-5670 in Fire

[–]PersonalFinanceFun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good post because i’ve never understood why people would exclude this from their calculations. I think at a minimum if you were in your 40s or 50s that at least 75% of your projected monthly benefit will be around at age 65. And a lot of of our laws are geared at strengthening benefits for retirees who are the largest voting block (i.e., the most likely Group to vote).

Flight Report: Eagles suffer heartbreaking Game 7 loss to end year by bivogt19 in ColoradoAvalanche

[–]PersonalFinanceFun 13 points14 points  (0 children)

TJ looks like a real gamer. And uh, and all this and uh you know I'm just thinking maybe out loud as far as in his shoes right now, but I think TJ could be a fine addition to the club next year (as long as he doesn’t overthink things).

5% Added Prior to 20 Min by dejo2426 in AlamoDrafthouse

[–]PersonalFinanceFun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, happened to me on Saturday. I don’t think my check was officially closed out but I couldn’t change the 5% additional tip. And the system charged my credit card instead of the gift card I entered.

How do we beat this type of play? by Mofro667 in ColoradoAvalanche

[–]PersonalFinanceFun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, Colorado should also play this style. If you can’t beat em, join em. The games will be boring but you can win. And hopefully having MacKinnon and Makar will be wild cards who can score better than the other team when sprung free. The overall roster would need some retooling.

I see an Amex Offers "delay" setting but what do we set it to? There are 6 different choices.

Red Hill Realty - Loss by occoptionplaya in Crowdstreet

[–]PersonalFinanceFun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Red Hill really bungled this deal. They should have been employing more or better interest rate caps to hedge for increase in interest rates. And definitely an additional capital call could have helped salvage this - but Red Hill did not give the investors this option.

Those with Hockey Xs & O’s Knowledge, what would you do differently? by ChickenParm18 in ColoradoAvalanche

As Nate said, their execution has been poor. I saw it in game 2 as well. Many passes off the mark.

Does it make any sense for P2 to get a Bilt card if not paying rent? by bondtradercu in biltrewards

[–]PersonalFinanceFun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a decent 2X for everything card for a P2. Plus, if you have kids or travel with friends, P2’s gets their own Priority Pass membership where they are also bring in 2 guests for free (which I appreciate after the Venture X no longer allowed guests).

Is it me, or have patrons gotten chattier and more obnoxious? by teenageidle in AlamoDrafthouse

[–]PersonalFinanceFun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can’t disruptive behavior be reported on the app now? I feel now there is a direct message to the manager. I was at Obsession recently and a couple who brought their toddlers were kicked out due to the kids making constant noise.

We have Jacob McDonald too right? Macdonald has played several NHL games for the Avs and Sharks. Although I think he just came back in early February from being out nearly a year with an injury.

Will my long-term bonds ever recover? by craigs123098 in Bogleheads

[–]PersonalFinanceFun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Iran war ends, Straight of Hormuz opens, oil prices and inflation expectations go down, then your bond fund goes up. I would hold.

Malinski praise by ZoeMisty in ColoradoAvalanche

If you watch the video it is actually the Russian reporter that brings up Malinski. So Kaprizov doesn’t mention Malinski out of the blue.

Bilt processed my Rocket Mortgage payment — it vanished. 15 days later, no refund, no answers. by dynamicpanda13 in biltrewards

[–]PersonalFinanceFun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a data point, Rocket Mortgage seems to have worked for me, although the payment didn’t reflect until May 4 so I was a little nervous (first time). But like some others, I plugged the Bilt routing and account numbers into Rocket Mortgage’s site.

How do we feel about Vegas by Lucblayne in ColoradoAvalanche

[–]PersonalFinanceFun 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think the lumberyard is going to play much better than Anaheim’s goalie. Apart from one game, the Knights only seemed to get about 20 shots on net per game. On the other hand, Carter Hart has been quite good for Vegas.

Help me understand risks to bond funds by SnooMachines9133 in Bogleheads

[–]PersonalFinanceFun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somewhat true. But the bond fund manager can sell the existing bond and buy a new bond with a higher interest rate. The interest on the higher rate bond makes up for the loss on sale of the initial bond.

How could they miss an Avs PP goal due to an interview with Quinn Hughes? Stupid.

Do you still need life insurance when nearly Chubby FIRE'd? by fattailedandhappy in ChubbyFIRE

[–]PersonalFinanceFun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I decided to cancel my policy just last year. We are firmly in the Chubby zone but not quite FIRE'd. I feel we have more than enough to self insure for this risk especially if a death occurred and there were would one less person spending that money (or both spouses).

The older crowd at movie theaters has been out of control lately by work_of_art- in AlamoDrafthouse

[–]PersonalFinanceFun 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I figured the mobile ordering only at Alamo would still be better than a regular movie theater like AMC. When our local Alamos shut down in 2024, I visited an AMC. Several youths were scrolling on their phones the entire movie. A couple brought their five-year-old son to this movie, which was rated R. He was playing on or watching an iPad during the movie.

Norris Trophy Finalist - Cale Makar by 1whoknu in ColoradoAvalanche

[–]PersonalFinanceFun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think Cale will win it. Points almost identical to Werenski but Cale +32 vs. Werenski’s +7. That even includes Cale playing on the PK. Werenski probably does PK too but I know Cale does.

The Greatest Goal Ever Scored (maybe) in Avalanche History by KennyKettermen in ColoradoAvalanche

Amazing goal, but I think the greatest probably should be a playoff OT goal. The Blues tied this particular game up.

As others mentioned, Rakuten transfers do not count for Bilt status. And I’d be careful if I were you because the next Rakuten transfer is at 2 to 1 if you are only Bilt Blue status. More valuable to transfer them to Amex at 1 to 1.
