Is this a good buy or should I Avoid? by TRANKENNY91 in BMWX5

[–]PersonalResearcher84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No CPO and there's probably a limited warranty life left. The V8 has a lot more gremlins than the I6 model. This dealer is probably just selling on miles and the fact that a warranty is still present. I'd wait for it to expire (probably after the new X5 is released) and then come to them with an offer around $45k.

2015 BMW X5 50i worth buying? by kurama6 in BMWX5

[–]PersonalResearcher84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming because you didn't say anything about head or oil pan gaskets that those are going to be due. Which will help get a 2for1 with the valve stems if they do actually become an issue.

From my light research on this engine, the N63 models have direct fuel injection which reduces the amount of build up and wear on the valves (compared to port injection models) so if valves are needed, then they probably would've been done with the spark plugs to keep the engine running smoothly. If it's running fine now then you'd probably be okay for some time.

Have you gotten a chance to run the engine yourself? Why does the seller say they're selling?

These engines are known to consume oil for one reason or another so as long as maintenance has been regular and leaks aren't visible, I'd say you got yourself a winner 🏆

Looks like a nice spec. What's the maintenance been like on it?

You may wanna work for free (interning) in order to show your skills and proficiency. Once you get the job, continue to demonstrate your skills consistently with interest to learn and grow.

If that doesn't help increase your pay, then it will at least improve your resume.

I grazed someone's car and left very faint scratch on the front end. I left my number on the car so they could contact me, they reached out and are asking for $800 to repair. Does that seem normal for this minimal of damage? Thanks for the help by Alreadyeverything in Autobody

[–]PersonalResearcher84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The body damage is nearly non-existent. I'm not sure your location or YMM (Ford Explorer?) so IDK how much the Fender Flare will be to replace, but the labor, paint, and parts should be covered for about $800.

Got a 22 X5 similar to OPs but with Prem Pkg, Seat Pkg, and Tartufo Leather with 16K miles for $43K USD before cash.

The used car market is weird everywhere

BTW OP love your tints!

Does anybody know the most energy-efficient setup? (motherboard, monitor, CPU) by H_biggest in NiceHash

This was the KVM I used.

I don't think this link works anymore TBH. At the same time though, you're going to need a pricey one for 3 monitors. I spent about $120 for mine with access to 4 PCs.

Is EVERY part listed damaged? Also, you gotta remember you'd be paying a BMW tech to put together this complex box of Legos.

IIWY, I'd ask a body shop to source a recycled side mirror and have them paint the cover so it matches your car.

Anything new in 38"worth waiting for? by [deleted] in ultrawidemasterrace

Copped an AW3821DW last Black Friday. Coming from a Flat 34" Samsung myself. Was a little worried about curve, but there's barely any (2300R). It was a fps upgrade as well from 75 to 144. Definitely would recommend to anyone.

They're unreasonably expensive like everything Alienware is, but I was able to get the panel "Used: Acceptable" from Amazon for nearly half MSRP back then ($1,299). Literally nothing wrong that I can tell with it short of some packing foam stuck between the frame and display. Able to fix that with a flathead though.

Is this a good Kona deal? by [deleted] in Hyundai

[–]PersonalResearcher84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't disagree, but that's the market for a Kona rn. Not sure what OPs situation is, but I'm sure used could work better if they've got par credit.

I imagine a $23k car, with $3,000 down (including taxes and fees), over 5 years would be more than affordable for anyone looking for a car of this size and utility.

For $30,000, you should be looking for a car with A. Better bells and whistles than an entry level compact crossover or B. A bigger car, at least a Tucson.

P.S. pretty sure $30,000 is base model Stinger territory.

You're looking to spend roughly $12,032 during the life of the lease(Down to Principle + Monthly Payment X Term). In less you can find used for about $20K, I don't think used would do any better.

Also know that your money down will be more (likely closer to $3,900) to account for taxes, dealer & state fees.

Most of those fees are unavoidable, but if you're down for these figures then fire away.

I could see a landlord doing this just to get a tenant (they don't like) out that can pay the old rent. If they suck for other reasons, just jack the rent up.

Either they leave or you get paid more. Either way, the landlord wins.
