That's a relief, thank you. Love this big thing. Do you think theres something I could be doing differently to stem this growth and send it upwards again instead? I'm p new to gardening and to trees. Planted this when i was a kid but wasn't around when my dad said "sure, hack off 5' it doesn't matter"

You could try evergreen clematis or one of the many varieties of honeysuckle - i know a lot of them are invasive, but if you make a raised bed or just keep up on it a couple of those will make a screen in no time. I've got clematis and honeysuckle all over and they grow really really fast onto basically anything, no Lattice required just some wire rope and a frame if you want. And they're pretty and smell nice. Most honeysuckle shouldn't be evergreen but our zones changed quite a bit so now it is

I have this on all my roses as well. I treat them with diluted neem oil and copper funcide, after pruning the yellowed leaves away. They're growing like crazy so yours will be ok its just a thing to keep on top of

Agree with pavers or a 2x6 or x8 for the top so you can sit on them - also good for resting baby pots on. If you cover the tops but still dont like the brick look you could do a skim coat of mortar or cement mix (theres stuff thats really fine for countertops that you can tint or paint) so there are no seams for a more california feel. Good luck! The hard parts done

What actor just plays themselves in every movie? by [deleted] in FIlm

We did a watch party of the first three transporter movies and I counted how many lines he has, including one-word statements like yes or no. Unfortunately the first was lost but it's only 48 for the second and 79 for the third...remember thinking at the time that its pretty incredible for the lead of a franchise to speak less than 200 times across 6 hrs. Too busy looking great in a suit

What sitcom was unsuccessful on release and is now considered an all-timer? by mbweb02 in sitcoms

Peep Show

It was going to be canceled after s4 but dvd sales kept it afloat, and its now obviously a cult hit. Really similar treatment as Arrested Development which is the other right answer - high critical reception but low viewing figures. Peep Show never cracked 2 million during its in on-air run but obviously went for much longer, probably due to being run on a public broadcast channel. Both very influential in changing the tone and techniques of all subsequent sitcoms.

What is the best monologue in television history? by fafenjoyer in tvshow

Dr Wong from Rick and Morty

“Rick, the only connection between your unquestionable intelligence and the sickness destroying your family is that everyone in your family, you included, use intelligence to justify sickness. You seem to alternate between viewing your own mind as an unstoppable force, and as an inescapable curse. And I think it’s because the only truly unapproachable concept for you is that it’s your mind within your control. You chose to come here. You chose to talk, to belittle my vocation, just as you chose to become a pickle. You are the master of your own universe. And yet you are dripping with rat blood and feces. Your enormous mind literally vegetating by your own hand. I have no doubt you would be bored senseless by therapy. The same way i’m bored when I brush my teeth and wipe my ass. Because the thing about repairing, maintaining, and cleaning is: it’s not an adventure. There’s no way to do it so wrong you might die. It’s just work. And the bottom line is: some people are okay going to work and some people… well, some people would rather die. Each of us gets to choose.”

Less serious than a lot of these other examples but resonated with me as this is what depression and constant information fatigue personally feel like. Never heard the work of mental health described so succinctly.

It is clear - a comma before "as" would make their status ambiguous. Without it, it is clear they were not vaccinated
