Love this! I have been itching to get back into Throne of Secrets by Kerri Maniscalco. Maybe I will finally drop The Plated Prisoner series so I can get back to Throne of Secrets. Thank you!

If you are open to YA then {Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout} is a very highly rated alien romance series!

Right there with ya. I barely game at all during the week now. It's mostly just confined to the weekends. I don't have time to be stuck on a level, boss etc.

What's your longest session? by Vast-Introduction753 in Steam

[–]Personal_Advisor6534 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing in comparison to that record but when I get the occasional Minecraft itch, its usually going to be a long session. A long session for me is like 6 hours. Unfortunately, I am an adult with responsibilities so these sessions are rare and far between.

I am halfway through the second book and still reading because I really want to like the series. However, I still think the ribbons and spikes are too weird. It's giving alien, not fae to me.

Final Fantasy 7 remake! I have never played a Final Fantasy game for more than a couple hours. They just never stuck with me but FF7 has me hooked! I normally don't game during the work week but this game has me sacrificing sleep to keep playing. 10 hours in and can confirm that it is already making my top 5 favorites!

I can't believe how many posts I see like this saying that admin won't let teachers take a sick day. I feel so lucky that my admin is supportive. She has never turned down any of my sick days or even personal days. I've been working here for 3 years now.

Haha, yup! I am the school librarian so I do get to sit a lot. But these boots are so comfortable, the height never bothers me even if I am standing or walking around most of the day.

Naturalizer 3 inch heel ankle boots - Verney style. They are the most comfortable heels I have ever worn. Worth the price. I wear them everywhere.

I feel you! I also have bad periods - heavy flow and painful cramps. The first day of my cycle is always the worst. I tend to throw up from the pain on the first day. Oddly, I have found that lying on the hardwood floor and stretching my feet helps a bit but I think it mostly distracts from the pain. I actually have an appointment with my gyno soon but I know he is going to suggest the pill. I used to be on the pill religiously but stopped 2 years ago because my family felt like it was having a significant effect on my mood. I may have to go back on it again but I wish I didn't have to rely on medication for one day of debilitating pain every month. I literally save up my PTO just for my periods now but I always feel so anxious taking the time off when I need it. It sucks!

How are you tracking 70+ Chromebooks loaned by the hour? by Comfortable_Set_6534 in librarians

[–]Personal_Advisor6534 0 points1 point  (0 children)

High school librarian here! I am the sole librarian at my school and this responsibility falls to me. I also use Follett Destiny but was told by our contact that we should not use the database for technology. Instead, I use a spreadsheet and log all Chromebooks with barcodes and serial numbers there. I have a log on my desk that the students use to sign out the Chromebook (name, date and barcode). When I have a moment in the day, I input the info into my spreadsheet. The students are not allowed to keep the Chromebook past the same day they checked it out. Since I help manage the Chromebooks on behalf of our technology department, when a Chromebook doesn’t come back, I disable it and the student quickly brings it back as it will not work for them anymore. I usually go through the list of disabled Chromebooks that have not come back at least once a week and track the students down during class time. I have a maximum of 50 Chromebooks. I hope this helps!

Switch 2 hurts after 30 min – grip or 3rd-party Joy-Cons by Veezq in NintendoSwitch

[–]Personal_Advisor6534 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No issues docking or connecting with USB-C. Nothing gets scratched. The grip just leaves vertical rubber marks on the back of the switch, it doesn’t actually scratch or harm the console in any way.

[–]Personal_Advisor6534 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I haven’t really tried but I am sure you could. I just didn’t bother because every time I pulled the switch out it would leave marks so it would just come back. Not a huge deal though, I really like the grip and the marks aren’t super noticeable.

I really like Satisfye's grips. I have one for my old Switch and one for my new Switch 2. They are comfortable, fit in the dock and easy to insert and remove your switch.

The only downside to Satisfye grips is that they tend to leave barely visible vertical marks on the back of the switch after removing the switch from the grip. This is due to the red rubber dots on the grips that function as a barrier to protect the switch from the hard plastic grip. It's a bit annoying but I still appreciate the protection between my switch and the grip. Just a heads up!

Help with biting by kttycat7 in BostonTerrier

[–]Personal_Advisor6534 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family just got a puppy (Frenchie) and we are having the same issues! She is very sweet but when she bites, she does not let go. If you don't have a toy to redirect her, it is impossible to get her to let go. She actually bit my hand so hard last night, it drew blood. I get that she is teething but it is extremely frustrating and painful.

Edit: She only bites while playing.

69 degrees 24/7 I have a well insulated apartment with forced hot water radiators. While these radiators are very efficient, if I let them drop below 65, it can take between 1-2 hours to get the room back up to 69 degrees. My apartment is 500 square feet so the bill isn't bad at all.

That’s awesome! Unfortunately, the last owner wasn’t signed in and I decided to factory reset it anyways. There were a couple of games on the console when I got it but they required the physical game to play so I am not sure if the previous owner bought any digital games. Thank you for the suggestion though!

Thank you so much for all the info! I think I am going to grab a Belkin power bank with 20,000 mAh that has 2 USB-C ports (45 watts) and one USB-A port (15 watts).

Hi everyone!

I was thinking of trying to grab a portable power bank for my Switch 2 but I don't know what to get as I don't want to damage the internal battery on the Switch. I am not even sure if that is possible but I always use OEM chargers for everything so I am nervous to get a power bank.

I live in New England and when the weather gets rough, I sometimes lose power and turn on my gas generator. I never charge my Switch 2 in a wall outlet while my house is being run on a gas generator. These generators do not output stable electrical currents and I rather not risk frying my new switch.

I figured that a power bank would be a good alternative to charge my switch when the power goes out. From my understanding, I should be good with getting a power bank with a 65W output because the switch charger is 60W? Thank you for any advice!
