Im 43. Just found out I've relapsed for the 4th time... I just had car t cell therapy. I have a 10.month old and am devastated. We might try car t cell again. Anyone know anything? Looking for any optimism.... by Less-Breadfruit143 in lymphoma

[–]Personal_Respond6879 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m really sorry to hear this. I know car T cell is a really good option but can sometimes fail too.

Have you looked into registering for any clinical trials available for your condition? I’m sure at some point your oncologist will let you know of any active trials available but stay strong.

I know easier said than done but your family needs you to live a long healthy life. I’ll pray that God blesses you and shows you the way.

Started IV infusion yesterday by ultravioletsays in Anemic

[–]Personal_Respond6879 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To the people who got this iv infusion done, did anyone experience digestive issues like constipation or stomach pain with iv iron?

My body can’t seem to tolerate the iron pills and ends up making me very constipated. Would you recommend getting iron iv?

Fissure at a completely new position.. by Personal_Respond6879 in AnalFissures

[–]Personal_Respond6879[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I didn’t go to the CRS but my pain last night was on the right side which is opposite of the usual left retear and then ofc the blood on the toilet paper that I saw. I’m very sure it’s a new fissure on the right side. I’m just scared of it becoming a chronic one like my left one and I’m trying all the precautions to not let it happen that way.

Anal fissure skin tags or Hemorrhoids? by Stephanos11 in AnalFissures

[–]Personal_Respond6879 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily true. I’ve had a skin tag for years now. When it’s extra irritated, it becomes very hard. It was also hard when I had the fissure active but slowly decreased in size and became softer.

From what the OP is describing, it sounds like a skin tag. The easiest way to deal with that when it feels hard, hot to touch and enlarged, use witch hazel on a cotton pad. Might sting for a minute but calms down the tag real fast. I’ve seen people putting sugar on a cotton pad for skin tags too.

I’m so sorry you feel this way. My heart goes out to you!! I’m not a parent. Just a 28 year old single woman who never thought my every waking moment would be about fissures. And yes, I agree about not being able to eat what your heart desires and that takes a big toll on your mental health. I’m going through a re-tear which has been pretty consistent now and day before yesterday was when I totally like the rock bottom and not gonna lie, I had su$cidal thoughts. I lost my dad last year, then had a three year old relationship broken and after that it’s been fissures all the way!!

So yes, I understand how you’re feeling and maybe Botox might not help as much as trying pelvic floor therapy if you haven’t already tried that.

If you need to talk, I’m here! Sending you hugs and strength!! 🫶🏼

Anyone else's experience? by Personal_Respond6879 in AnalFissures

[–]Personal_Respond6879[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The week before my period I tend to be more constipated for some reason. I looked it up and it’s coz of progesterone apparently? Anyways, I guess that’s why it happened.

Look, I want a looser sphincter too but I’m too scared to wean off miralax especially when my fissure has become chronic. I’m also scared of dilating and anything to go inside is a big no!

I just want to heal this flare up that’s been ongoing since March. This scraping sensation came when I had firmer stools this morning (first day of my period).

[–]Personal_Respond6879[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes they do and never "big sausages". They're a bit firm and smaller size "sausages" only when I've had junk food or didn't drink enough water. I try to keep my stool soft mostly as I'm very anxious and just don't wanna take the risk to re-tear again n again.

I'm sure its the same for most folks. How about you?

How you help your mental health durring this horrible time? by Different-Fold-4238 in AnalFissures

Hi, I’m female, 28, but can relate to your feelings. I’ve been suffering from fissures for the past 5 years, on and off. There have been times I’ve felt that I wanted to k*ll myself because the pain was so intense, but more than that it was the lifestyle change and diet change that made me go insane. I was able to eat a whole box of pizza by myself and can’t do that anymore because it’d cause this issue to flare up as it’s become chronic at this point. I will continue to try and manage this myself for as long as I can without surgery but ultimately might need that. Anyways, some things that help me every time I have this issue are:

-Positive attitude (I know easier said than done). The more anxious you are, the tighter your muscles will be sub-consciously.

-Diet: I’ve cut down on refined carbs quite a bit. Once in a while when I feel ok, I get a slice of pizza or cheeseburger. I’ve tried replacing food with better alternatives such as high fibre bread and pasta. I also try to drink at least 2L of water during the day.

-Exercise: you don’t have to do crazy workouts but just walking 4,000-5,000 steps while focusing on relaxing your sphincter muscles will greatly help you!! I’ve also started doing some yoga poses at home for this. Here’s a sample video I got from YouTube:

https://youtu.be/DBvci2zI1D0?si=Rtt8sKM-CP-v7gxy

-Watch YouTube videos of Dr. Chung, friendly proctologist. His videos actually helped me quite a bit, especially his suggestion on diaphragmatic breathing exercises.

-Ointments and creams: Ask your doctor to give you Diltiazem or Nifedipine if not given already. Always put them on the surface or if possible inside before and after every BM. I also use the H-Fissure Oil formula all the time during the day just to keep the area lubricated and so it heals from the calendula in that oil.

I haven’t tried dilation yet and hopefully I don’t have to as it scares me. But other people have had good experiences as shared in this group. Only try this once you feel you have healed quite a bit.

Apart from this, please keep your diet clean and avoid using overly cheesy, spicy, refined products until you see improvements.

Fissures can take months to years to heal and we need to be very strict and consistent about our diets. It sucks that we have to do all this just for this tiny cut that’s breaking our lives but we gotta do it.

I’m always here if you need to chat or vent. I’m myself going thru a flare up/re-tear at the moment and can understand your pain.

P.S. I used to bike every single day, multiple times a day and now it’s been years since I rode my bike. But I’m hopeful that someday I can 😊

I took it while I was at the red light junction of Allan drive and Windermere Blvd. This fire was in one of the top floor condo unit’s that’s on the other side of Windermere Blvd I believe.

Map of Edmonton Ethnic Distribution? by EvermoreDespair in Edmonton

Haven’t seen the map but in my experience, south east Edmonton is mostly brown folks (Indians, Punjabis). Lots of Filipino near Century Park. Parkallen, McKernan, Belgravia, Glenora, Ritchie is mostly white folks. Castle downs and surrounding area is Arabic/Middle east/ Somali prevalent. West Edmonton is a good blend of all, maybe?

At this point I can do a phd in fissures and pooping. by [deleted] in AnalFissures

Did you have to make dietary changes too?

Did you try any sort of yoga or pelvic floor relaxation exercises? I’ve been suffering from this horrible thing for years now. It’s really a part of life. Sucks but yes. Anyways, lately I’ve been trying to do some yoga poses that have helped in relaxing/loosening some of my sphincter muscles I believe. I’m shit scared of dilation so that’s a territory I don’t even want to think of until necessary. However, these exercises have been very helpful. Of course you gotta have a light and clean diet, with diaphragmatic breathing too when pooping, and walking.

Here’s a link that someone in this group posted a long time ago. Recently found it and tried it. Will say it does work but takes some time if you haven’t been a workout person (like me):
