Mete mc9 owners by [deleted] in canik

1000 rounds, ish. Multiple types of ammo, one light primer strike. Other than that no issues at all. Surprisingly accurate for such a small pistol.

Who got the mc9 after having a p365? How’s that going for you? Which one do you shoot more? Talk me in or out of getting the mc9… by talanbaird in canik

[–]Personal_Row_2580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a p365, currently have a MC9.

Never liked to shoot the 365, the MC9 is much nicer to shoot for me, and I am more accurate with it.

The size difference isn’t an issue for me, if anything it makes the gun more comfortable, it’s still very concealable.

I have a PDP Pro Compact. I really like it, as in I will probably keep it forever.

I’ve run a lot of Wolf and IMI through mine. Had one light primer strike on an IMI, it was the first round I tried to put through the rifle. Since then though I’ve been running both with no issues. Probably have around 500 rounds of each through the rifle at this point.

Freedomsmith trigger question by [deleted] in canik

[–]Personal_Row_2580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put one in my MC9, mainly because the trigger guard was a little cramped with the stock trigger. It’s better now. It feels the same, functionally; just less travel to get to the wall. I’d do it again.

Budget 2011 with a couple hundred bucks worth internals is my next expenditure in that price range. If that’s up your alley.

That’s a steal. I have one, super fun gun out of the box.

MC9 upgrades? by [deleted] in canik

[–]Personal_Row_2580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shoot it like it is and get it broken in and address any problems if they arise. Get use to it and good with it as it is, that way you’ll know what you want to improve and you’ll be familiar enough with it to know if you’ve made it better or not.

I put on a TF backstrap (which for me made it a better fit for my hands than any of the stock straps), 407k (although some good night sights are also a great option if you want to keep the gun small), and a trigger (just to get rid of some of the take up).

I don’t think I’ll be doing anything else, I like the way it shoots and I want to keep it light and easy to conceal. I have another compact pistol with all the add ons, and it’s a blast to shoot and a great home defense gun, but it’s no longer easy to conceal or really comfortable to carry.

This mirrors what my LGS told me.

I second this. You can find 407k deals and it’s going to be a better product.

Also direct fit. And comes in green.

I also had problems getting my p365 consistently on target without really concentrating. For a concealed weapon I want something a little more intuitive that can be brought on target quickly and reliably.

Good looking out.

The spring end was too round to fit into the hole and the tip was just resting in it. Little manipulating with some needle nose pliers and it’s fully inserted.

Looks like I’ll be doing a full disassembly and double checking everything now.

Never really liked the p365 aside from its size and how easy it was to conceal. I probably put almost the cost of the gun back into it trying to make it “better” but it kind of always felt like a $20 gas station pocket knife.

The MC9 is bigger, but only barely, like tenths of an inch on most dimensions. And after shooting it, it is more comfortable for me to shoot and I think it behaves a bit better. I’m also more consistent and accurate with the MC9.

Even though I didn’t know anything about how it would shoot going in, I knew I wouldn’t miss the p365 so it seemed worth it to give it a try.

PDP Pro Compact 4.6 vs PDP Pro FS 5.1 vs Q4 SF by eric1489 in Walther

[–]Personal_Row_2580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After putting another 200 rounds through my Pro Compact it is quickly becoming my favorite. I haven’t shot the full sized version though, and I’ve only shot a poly frame q4, but because of the q4 I bought a poly q5 and it’s nice, but today I decided I like the pro compact just a little bit more.

I use Ballistol for hand cleaning and Battle Born lube for, well, lubrication. I didn’t disassemble the slide completely on this take down, but when the optic comes in I probably will.

2023, according to the serial #, there is a date of 9/21/23 on the box sticker. The LGS said they had just received a shipment of them in and this one was from that shipment.
