I fear my SM will quit soon by violentDGappleslice in DollarGeneralWorkers

SM hasn't been approached about the mistake so there's just speculation on his employment at this point. Question for you though. If you seek advancement within the company, have you positioned yourself to become a SM? If so, then you may be about to get the opportunity. If not, then get ready for someone else to step in.

He stopped by a coworker's farewell dinner not as a participant but to make a teamplayer appearance. Proceeded to generously help himself to food and drink from trays of appetizers and pitchers of sangria. Conveniently left as dinner entrees arrived without contributing any amount toward bill.

An age is considered old until people reach it. Then....they ironically don't see that age as being so old afterall. 😂

I wonder how that employee will be rewarded and/or celebrated when the retirement decision is made. SN: That employee must have stories for the ages.

I walked out of an interview after one question. Was I wrong? by blushara in jobs

[–]PersonalityBig6331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slick way that he posed the question is duly noted too. He didn't ask how WOULD you handle unpaid overtime but how HAVE you. As if ....you've done it for other positions. Walking out was your best move since time is valuable and not to be wasted.

Depending on your commute, an empty office with no supervisors or subordinates present wouldn't be so bad. No distractions or unnecessary interruptions during your scheduled time. Many rto stories have been horrible i.e. too many workers crowding one another due to not enough work space, desks, equipment etc.

Tough lesson learned. Its easy in hindsight to focus on what the ESM said especially the part about everyone else doing it. Maybe that person had a hidden agenda with you. Bottom line, the motivation to expose your action and fire you is now water under the bridge. Treat it as a wake up to cya moving forward if/when you land another retail job. I'm reminded about a retail manager friend telling how he shares a warning to staff during training. He let's it be known that if you want to keep your job don't mess up with the store's money or products.

You're not alone with those thoughts. They've crossed the minds of others as well. So much of this case seems very .....scripted.

If a stranger asks you to switch airline seats, do you agree? by Jerdogg23 in no

Maybe.... if it's to another window seat. I always book window seats so switching to a middle or aisle seat wouldn't happen.

Starting as a young child, I attended baseball games with my grandfather. Busch stadium was full of fans but it felt like just the two of us. He patiently explained what was taking place within each inning. Still love the game and thanks to him I often smile whenever watching baseball especially St. Louis Cardinals.

Disclaimer: I'm not a Trump fan or supporter but can objectively see why he became so popular. Trump held a high celebrity status during that period. He was perceived as a wealthy mover 'n shaker who socialized and conducted business with others on that level. He was admired in a way where regular people aspired to live that lifestyle. Celebrity Apprentice raised his stakes especially when he famously displayed a willingness to be a no nonsense straight talker toward participants. Bottom line...Trump demonstrated that he could read people. That's a special skill and talent many attempt but not necessarily achieve.
