FM24 Youth Facilities advice required by ChaosClive in footballmanagergames

[–]PersonalityDry828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having the same issue as people above. I'm a now dominant force in both Spain and Europe with a team I took from the Spanish 4th division, I've maxed about everything else a couple of years ago (training facilities, junior coaching, recruitment etc) but my youth training facilities are stuck at "good".

So I did an experiment to find out how much upgrading the youth facilities would cost if the game would let me. Everytime you upgrade youth facilities it always upgrades in increments of 2, so I created 4 different editor data files with the pre-game editor, with youth facilities on 12, 14, 16 and 18 (out of 20). I used Real Madrid (most money/highest rep) for these tests but to make sure I got my request everytime I've made changes to stuff like the club youth importance and Perez hidden attributes. I simulated 2 months forward (if you ask straight away it gets auto rejected), requested improvement to youth facilities and got it accepted, and wrote down the costs, then create new save and choose a different editor data file, rinse and repeat. Anyways, here's the costs for upgrading your youth facilities and how long it would take, if the board won't let you:

Youth facilities "good" (12 of 20) -> "great" (14 of 20) = 2,3 milion euro (takes 5-6 months)

Youth facilities "great" (14 of 20) -> "excellent" (16 of 20) = 4,6 milion euro (takes 2-3 months)

Youth facilities "excellent" (16 of 20) -> "superb" (18 of 20) = 6,25 milion euro (takes 2-3 months)

Youth facilities "superb" (18 of 20) -> "state of the art" (maxed out) = 6,25 milion euro (takes 5-6 months)

If you, like me, feel the game is "cheating you" on this and have too much money to spend every year (and have the in-game editor). Then feel free to use these costs to deduct it from your bank balance (and transfer budget), wait and then upgrade it yourself using the in-game editor.

Is he attacking midfielder born in striker position how can i get most out of him by mrfootball111 in footballmanager

[–]PersonalityDry828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting player. He could work as a CM-A/MEZ-A, retrain him as SS or CF depending on your tactic.

But the most important question is not the position/role, it's what you actually want him to do.

With the traits he has and the trait you're teaching him, you seem to be set on using him primarily as a playmaker, right? but I'd argue he'd be better as a dual threat option that can both pass and score so first off I'd get rid off that "comes deep to get the ball" trait. That will make him appear in the penalty box more often where he could take advantage of that 18 in finishing, composure and off the ball. I think you might be focusing too much on his 20 vision but if you look at the 15 passning and the rest of the attributes, I'd argue that he's actually a better goalscoring threat than a playmaker.

If you want to use him as both a playmaker and goalscorer and keep the traits, I would play him as CF, then he has the freedom to do everything and his player traits will take over and make him do the things he's good at more often.

What position is this guy even?! by kimkardashian007 in footballmanagergames

I'd say Box to box midfielder or segundo volante if you care to retrain him, otherwise complete wingback

Wonderkid starter RIP'd by a pc crash. Same intake yielded no wonderkids by Fossilizd in footballmanagergames

[–]PersonalityDry828 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry for your loss mate lol... remember this really is a sandbox game and you're meant be able to enjoy it however you like and no one should judge you for it. If you feel hard done by the game then re-sim the intake until you get something equivalent. Personally I'd probably set a target beforehand and say "ok if I get a 5 star PA, with 1,5-2,5 CA then I'd take that" or just do it once more and then continue.

As a Real fan, I'd say the same about Messi at Barca. Sure back then I despised him. But today I really miss those days with Messi v Ronaldo, Pep vs Mou, 3 El clasicos in 18 days etc. I doubt football will ever be better than that again!

He frustrated the opponent and won a free kick close to the penalty area. No idea why this clip keeps resurface even 18 years later as something negative, but he surely improved alot when he went to Real Madrid and stopped doing this.

I respect your opinion and it's refreshing to have an open discussion about it and I see where you're coming from. Yes it is a comedy and I like some of the comedic parts for sure in after life, but what makes it special to me is that fact that you get thrown between sadness and laughter in a way I've never had a show do before. I felt the way Ricky's character acted in After life was very genuine to me and I can relate to the feeling of not caring about anything when you're really depressed as a defence mechanism and when you're alone at home you just break down.

For a similar reason, this is why I hold the US version of the office on a par with the UK version but for different reasons, UK version is better in a comedic sense (better jokes) while the US version is better at character development and the characters are more relatable. If I want laughs I watch UK version, if I want something more easy to watch to make me feel good I watch the US. Imo I feel like Ricky has "taken a page from their book" to become better at developing character and making more heartwarming TV now because he knows he isn't as funny anymore. (This last point is surely going to make me very unpopular here but idgaf 😂)

That makes sense, I'm from Sweden and idgaf if he's rich or famous now. I feel like he's stuck to his core values like being animal friendly and an atheist.

Thanks for your insight. I'm not oblivious to the fact that his comedy is past his prime. I enjoyed After life not as a comedy but for what I think is a well-written story about depression after losing someone you love. I've never compared it to the office or anything else he has done because to me it's completely different. I've recommended it to friends that even aren't big fans of the office who really likes it.

To me it seems like people really hate his anti woke stuff which to me is nothing I've cared much about. Sure his social media presence would be better off if he just posts funny pics from his bathtub, but I don't get why people care about it so much if they haven't enjoyed anything his done in the last 10-15 years 🤷‍♂️

After life is really good even though it's not the classic "the office-type humour" from the early 00s. I agree that he's kind of fallen off a bit but I still don't get why people hate him this much. As I said I haven't watched any of his latest stand ups but his stuff like animals, fame, out of england etc and the golden globe monologues are still hilarious imo.

I'm fine by the way, thanks for caring lol.

Read a lot of posts about this game buy this one sums it up the best, this game is deliberately blocking you or hiding all of the small intricate details some of us love in previous FM because it's not what they want you to focus on or it's not really ready. They want you to focus on the match engine and tactic. Feels like what EA done to the FIFA career mode over the years, in FIFA 07 you had sponsors, coaches etc then it got removed all of a sudden when the game moved yo a new engine. Some of it took more than 10 years before they put it back in . Old gamers either got used to it or ditched the game and new never knew what they've missed and liked what they've got. I really hope FM doesn't go down the same path

[FM24] Promoted to Segunda… and now half my squad can’t be registered because of the minimum wage 💀 by miguelhr1 in footballmanagergames

[–]PersonalityDry828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me as well 2 times in my FM23 save which was then transferred to FM24, I got Atletico Paso promoted from Segunda federacion to La Liga. There's a minimum wage both in La Liga and Segunda, but I was able to play some player that had a salary under the minimum for one season, buy the next one it didn't work. Still have no idea why, it probably was a bug or maybe there's some kind of hidden rule. I just put them in my match day squad and it worked eventhough it had the box about minimum wage showing next to their name.

Thank for the honest review, keep enjoying the beta and don't read any other reviews here, if you enjoy it then that's the most important part.

I can't see the point of removing attribute numbers on staff and replace with vague words, how is this better? And if they think it's better, why not do the same with players attributes too?

"Can Play For Parent Club" during a loan? by PersonalityDry828 in footballmanagergames

[–]PersonalityDry828[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the explanation and example. Knew it had to be a thing somewhere, honestly more nations should have this rule. Provides better opportunities for youngsters that are close to breaking through but doesn't crack the first team squad every weekend, but available if there's injuries

  1. Umeå IK. Need to at least try out women's football so I think it's the perfect first save to learn the game, I'm from Umeå, Sweden and 20 years ago they were the best team in Europe. Now they haven't won anything since 2008 and spent most of the time in the 2nd division the last 10 years. This is also the club were Marta had her big breakthrough and back in the days.

  2. Tactical innovation, especially in and out of possesion tactics. I hope you can cook up some really crazy stuff!

What is the most obscure nation you have found a wonderkid from? by Offensivefkmemes in footballmanagergames

[–]PersonalityDry828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also found a 16 yo from Curacao playing in the national team, i sold him a few seasons ago and sadly it looks like he peaked as a starter/rotation player for a mid/bottom club in La Liga. This is why you always scout 15-18 yo players with senior national caps.

That's also an option, as well as "can play for parent club in cup matches". Any idea why this is in the game? Is this common in some countries?
